My crude brain thinks of that classic scene in Robocop "There's more hair... down there!"

Are people mad that he thinks he has to shave or that his hair is growing? Both seem correct. He has to shave. He's human now, right? Hair grows.

Think the problem is that being alive hasn't changed anything. Vampire hair has been seen to grow.

I assume Angel always had someone else shave for him. Most barber shops still shave your face if you want 'em too.

I just assumed that after a couple hundred years, Angel had enough practice to be able to shave himself blindfolded, backwards, and upside down.

The hair definitly grows. Although Angel comes back well groomed from the hell-demension in season 3, I blame that on the demension itself, not bad writing or make-up planning... I guess. But why the hell didn't Spike get a beard for the beginning of season 7? Lots of roots, but no beard. Weird. And if I remember correctly, when Angel lived on the street, there were no beard, but long hair. Perhaps the characters are suppose to be unable to grow a beard, and the few times I've seen that Angel and Spike need to shave(often to be smooth like a baby in the next scene) it's because the director/actors, etc didn't think about sending them to make-up for a shave, to fit the characters beardlessness.

I just assumed that when he was a vamp, his hair didn't grow. But, now that he's human, he had to shave/cut his hair because to help with the illusion that he's still a vampire.

Interesting conversation!
Maybe they can't grow a beard. But they can grow a mustach. Remember Angel's little mustache in some of the flashbacks?

Didnt Angel have a beard in "Amends" back when he was in Ireland in the early 1800's?
Also the human body carries on growing hair and fingernails for up to 2 years after the body is dead, which I assume is when the scalp etc are all dead, since Vampires don't decompose I assume there hair growth cells stay put giving them the ability to still grow hair beard and fingernails.

Perfect Angel quote for this topic:
"But a clue nonetheless. Perhaps the whole point of this experiment is hair!"
