We have two winners to announce and two new finished covers to show! Congratulations to Rick Samaroo, and Gary Katzoff! Rick's winning cover concept entry was chosen to be interpreted and drawn by comic artist Stephen Mooney for the special limited edition cover for issue No. 6. Rick will be credited for the cover concept inside the issue and will receive a $400 prize package! Rick's winning entry is as follows... "Instead of picking between Lorne, Connor, or Spike ...how about all 3 in a pose that is a tribute to Charlie's Angels ... get it? Angels?"  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gary's winning cover concept entry was voted no. 1 at SlayAlive.com and chosen to be interpreted and drawn by comic artist Stephen Mooney for the special limited edition cover for issue No. 7. "Wesley's body is on Cyvus Vail's floor soon after Illyria has left to rendezvous with Angel. The Wesley one is really nice, especially with the colors in it now. *makes it my desktop* I wonder how much time Mooney had to pencil and ink the other one though, because... holy crap. Good concept, but the quality of art is infinitely higher in #7. Lorne looks like he's 100, but that's all due to the shading. Spike's face in really heavily shaded too. Mooney is known for that, and it gives all the characters a very haggard look. If you look from cover to cover, you can see him improving as an artist, so it HAS to be a time issue, though.

Since "After the Fall" has been extended, is this still going to go on for only twelve issues? Or will the contest be extended so it will cover every issue?

Hey guys, just wanted to jump in and say howdy. I'm having a great time with these covers, LOVING each of the winning concepts. I think this whole competition is a great idea, and being a massive Angel fan I'm giddy about being involved.The Wes one has been my favourite to draw so far, purely because he's my favourite character, and also because frankly the concept was brilliant. Nice work Gary! I have to admit that the turnaround time on the replacement cover was indeed tiny compared to the normal amount of time I get to work on these things, but thats nobodys fault, just one of those things. Can't wait to read the next batch of concepts! Cheers guys,

I would like to thank everyone for all of there support of my Wes idea.  Yes, it was my submission. I cannot believe so many people thought that it was a great idea, besides myself. I would especially like to thank Stephen Mooney for the fantastic job that he did with my idea. He did a better job envisioning my idea than I had. Thank You, Gary |

Lorne's nose is a tad too large though. Love the Wesley one. It's even more amazing colored. |

I love Angel After The Fall but I wish it wasn't with IDW, they are rubbish. No preview pages or official release dates and the covers are terrible. We get a descent one now and again but because it is always a different atrist doing them most are crap. |

I wouldn't go that far. I don't like how IDW doesn't have a solid release date until the day before it comes out, but other than that I love the company. Chris Ryall is nice, which is a lot more than Scott Allie is. IDW has done a lot to make us happy, and I love 'em.

I agree with Pat. I am glad that Angel is miles away from Dark Horse.
Ya IDW may not be as good with announcing release dates,or preview pages.
But what we get is a company that actually gives a damn about the Angel franchise and worked hard for 2 years on it before After the Fall. We got great releases, and now we have After the Fall.
I have a feeling that Angel would still be on the trash pile if the franchise was at Dark Horse. Buffy is their baby-which is fair enough. But Buffy would get all the attention, and Angel would have been left to rot at that company.
So keep going IDW - you are doing a great job with Angel!

That Wesley cover is gorgeus. Most of the Angel covers have made me go; "What the hell were they thinking?" But this cover is awesome. Better than most of the Buffy season 8 covers too.
