Wow! That list was in some kind of random order... I chose OMWF, not just for story, but technically what he accomplished is amazing. I would then say the Body, Hush, and Restless. Restless would be higher because of the way it is written, but personally I don't find it to be very entertaining so it gets knocked down a few...but only a few. I would round off my top five with A Hole in the World...gotta give Angel some love

Wow, another tough poll! Hard to choose, but OMWF was my #1. It is the ep I watch the most on DVD. The Gift, The Body, Hush, Lie to Me are so well written. My fave Angel ep on this list is City of. Great first ep!

"Not Fade Away."
Not only the best Joss episode, but the best television writing I've ever seen. Perfect episode, perfect finale, perfect script.

The Body. It transcends the series and is pretty much just an amazing piece of fiction.

I wish this would have been just Buffy or just Angel episodes.
For Angel:Hole in the World Buffy:Graduation Day.

Waiting in the Wings. Probably not my absolute favorite, but its up there, and deserves a vote for getting me to love an episode about freaking ballet. And im not just hating on ballet to appear macho ala Gunn. I've been dragged to them enough times in my my life to know that its not my thing.

The Body. That episode has a life of its own, and it will likely outlive the rest of Buffy.

Voted Not Fade AWay, but A hole in the World deserves an honorable mention.

OMWF.
A lot of Joss' episodes are super sad. OMWF was a nice, fun episode.
A Hole In The World, The Body, and The Gift are also favorites.

It's hard for me to choose between Waiting in the Wings, A Hole in the World, Not Fade Away, Restless, The Body, and Hush...but I chose The Body. It's just so tragic and I love the lack of supernatural (disregarding the vampire at the end, of course). It's not even the fact that Buffy's mom dies that makes it so sad (I didn't want her to die, but never really liked Joyce anyway). On a side note, I just saw this on Wikipedia, and thought it was funny: At the Buffy Reunion at Paley Festival, Emma Caulfield (Anya) was asked what emotions she was feeling when she filmed her monologue on why she doesn't understand death in Willow's dorm room, and admitted that they had been filming all day without a break and the only thing she was thinking was that she really had to pee. I love her.
