POEM - You Tell Me One Thing

You tell me one thing
But its not what you mean.
Only trust you when I see you.
There's so much I haven't seen.
And I wait til midnight
Knowing my phone'll never ring.

You tell me one thing
But it never seems true.
When it comes to Timothy,
You never follow through.
Why do I have to be forceful
In order to see you?

You tell me one thing.
I tell you something back,
But one day I'm gonna ask you
If its honesty you lack.

But these thoughts aren't thoughts at all.

They're lies laid in a stack.

I love the last line. It sounds real meaningful, as if it's suppose to unlock the poems meaning... Okay, that was weridly explained.

I like it.

The last line is a reference to the truth of it all. While I'm thinking this person is lying to me all the time in order to not have to be around me, its when I remember everything we've done together that I remember its only my anxiety talking, and everything I'm thinking is a lie.

But that doesn't make the lies go away.
