Does anyone know why the residents of Riverdale gave Lorne all the credit for turning it into a sanctuary? Wasn't it that fairy creature that cast the spell? This has been bothering me for a while... It didn't look like Lorne really did anything except stumble into it.

It didn't look like Lorne really did anything except stumble into it. I think his high-note helped get everyone out of Silverlake, then the sorceress put up the barrier shield. But I agree, it didn't look like all that much to me either. The art didn't really show Lorne 'in action' except for running away.

Hmm. Maybe someone should ask Brian Lynch.

He organized the troops. And when the battle was over, they needed a leader. The Sorceress may have been good at casting spells, but Lorne has more than a little experience at this kinda thing. Lorne stepped up.

Thanks Brian! That was a fast answer. It must be your awesome magical sideburns. I went back to the said page in First Night, and the exact quote is this: "So Lorne hit a high note, his highest that day, and people grabbed tools and jumped into the fray. The brawl lasted days but the town was left clean, then a sorceress's spell booted everything mean." I suppose Lorne hitting a high note had a metaphoric meaning beneath the literal one. It makes sense since this whole scene is very cartoony and whimsical rather than a stone-cold accurate play-by-play of exactly what happened. Thanks again Brian.

Couldn't the high note have dual meaning? Both literal and metaphorical? Because we've seen from "Sleep Tight" and "The House Always Wins" that the high note was one of Lorne's most effective weapons. I think he'd unleash it on the demon hordes of Silverlake.
