Dollhouse Writers

Yesterday I was going through recent interviews with various Dollhouse cast and crew and while reading one I noticed that two writers on the show are relatives of Joss Whedon. One is his brother Jed Whedon and the other is sister in-law and wife of Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen. Now, I never thought I'd have a problem with nepotism. But this does conern me, because with nepotism, oftentimes people that are better qualified for the job or with more talent are passed over for relatives of a person in power.

I never expected this from Joss. I'm not worried, because even if these two writers have a third of the talent that Joss does, they will do fantastic work. I just hope this does not becoming a common occurence with Joss.

The cynic within me knows how hard an industry television/film writing is to get into, and while I don't have a problem with giving another "a helping hand" with their career, I just hope other more talented people weren't passed over for this opportunity.

That said with the likes of Joss, Elizabeth & Sarah, Tim, Steve and now these new additions, the show will be in outstanding creative hands. I just hope when the show moves into it's second season (which it will. because I decided.) he doesn't hire more family.

I'm not trying to be hurtful, saying that Jed and Maurissa don't deserve their jobs. I just hope Joss has seen their talent and hired them for that, not just because they're related.

That's an interesting thing you found there. I don't read even half the articles I repost online.

I think Joss knows what he's doing, but we'll see I guess.

That is interesting and he may be putting them before more talented writers however I trust Joss ! If they were that bad he wouldnt let them on his team of writes
