Gosh, I wish I read this thread a lot sooner. I went to my comic shop after work, and was sorely disappointed! Bah! But, at least it gives me a good reason to use this awesome new icon!:

I'm not too disappointed in this delay. Not too surprised either. I'm still kind of getting over the Time of Your Life arc, still processing all the revelations. Whoever noticed that Joss Whedon is now credited as Executive Producer instead of "Joss Whedon's Season Eight", I noticed this too, and I'm very pleased with this change. It's a much nicer title. I hope they stick with this change. I think Joss being called 'Executive Producer' is because of the whole animated tv series concept of this particular issue, as opposed to it being a permanent change. I could be wrong though!

It'll be out this week... the 17th. As it was originally slated to anyway. And if you're an AtF reader, then rejoice; it's a 2 for 1 day!

Woo two at once. Buffy and Angel back on at the same time/same day just like the good old days. Back then it was a Tuesday for me. Buffy was on 20:00-21:00 and Angel was on 21:00-22:00.

I'm so torn over which cover to buy, normally I always get the Jo Chen ones, but the Jeanty one is awesome too. And I'm not one to waste money buying two copies either. Grrrrrr

I'm pretty set on the Jeanty one. The Chen cover is kinda meh to me, and for the sake of nostalgia, I'm getting the Jeanty one, even though it looks nothing like his usual work. Plus, it's pretty damn cool.

I think I'm going to go with the Chen cover JUST because it'll match all my other covers (I don't have Jeanty's because I dislike almost all of them). Although I do REALLY like the Jeanty cover for this one.
I'll just get the Jeanty covers when I get the TPB and they're all in the back.

Hmmm I feel as though the preview gave a bit too much away. I mean, seriously, six pages? I'm the type of person who likes to have the final product in their hand without too much of the experience being dwarfed beforehand. With that in mind, I didn't peruse through the six page "gift" but felt as if the piece submitted for MTV was meant more as a "quit your whining" than a "we apologize for the inconvenience."

Will the issue actually be in stores today or is it only being shipped out then? Meaning, there is a good possibility some of us will be receiving it tomorrow or later in the week...

Usually, it's in stores by Wednesday, but some stores only have them out later. But the shipping happens earlier. I guess it'd be better to just call your store to be sure.

Fair enough. Although, there isn't really a deffinitive "comic store" in my area. More like numerous convenient stores that happen to carry comics from time to time. Needless to say it makes it difficult to track down issues, ha, but that's half the fun.

I enjoyed this issue. A lot. We haven't had a stand alone issue in nearly a year, and I have been very excited to get to this issue for sometime now. While the issue didn't work on every level, it was still a very solid stand alone, that I wish could have been longer.
This issue basically served to tell us where Buffy's head is at this point in the season, and then combine that with her Season 1 life to give us a unique story. In the end, this issue shows us that Buffy's life has not really changed, just that she has lost the connection with her friends that she really required those first few years. I liked that, so hopefully we will start to see the Scoobies come together more, and not be so separated from each other.
The Buffy/Xander subtext in the beginning was excellent, and I loved Wight's art, especially on the two page spread of Buffy fighting the 3 vamps. Just awesome work, and I would love to see more of it in the future.
Overall, this was a solid issue and it is nice to see Buffy back on track and realizing what is important. She will always be saving the world, and she needs her family with her no matter what she saw in the future.
