yeah i think she might have gone into hiding or something so she wasn't detected!
I do think bringing buffy to the future was her own doing and her magic was used. And think about it she had to tear a whole in time and space and then pull buffy through it now that's gotta take alot of mojo!

And about her dragging Buffy to the future, she mostly only had to get Saga to tell old Willow to get Buffy to the right spot in New York. What? When did that happened? I toughed we didn't know who Saga's source is??

And think about it she had to tear a whole in time and space and then pull buffy through it now that's gotta take alot of mojo! Not necassrily. Dawn opened a bunch of dimensions at once, and the only thing she had to do was to bleed a little. If you're in the right place at the right time, you don't really have to use that much magic. Willow would obvisously have to do a lot more than Dawn, for example get a power source and do a lot of research, but she doesn't have to have the mojo within herself, she might as well have stolen a power source, or waited for the stars to align or something. And about her dragging Buffy to the future, she mostly only had to get Saga to tell old Willow to get Buffy to the right spot in New York. What? When did that happened? I toughed we didn't know who Saga's source is?? Well who else could it be? I'm not saying that future willow gave saga the info, but she wanted Buffy in the future and she made sure that the info would reach Present Willow. maybe she had someone else tip saga of. Saga seemed to know what willow would become tough, because she asked present Willow not to look into the future when she pulled Buffy back, which implies that saga knows what's going to happen to Willow, how much she will change. I guess that means that Saga's and Willow's thing won't come to and end soon...

Finally I got the issue, and it wasn't quite as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'm glad that the Xander/Dawn/Woodland Creatures stuff was at the beginning and left there. And a nice giggle was provided with the "What's scarier than us?" line.
The Buffy/Fray stuff was great. I loved the conflict that was created with Buffy and Fray because Buffy was preaching "big picture" again. She really needs to get off that. Big picture isn't always the best thing to look at. Was it worth sacrificing that one life just so that she could find out where the vamps were coming from? Isn't every human life supposed to be precious. Isn't it a Slayers "job" (as Fray said) to preserve the human race by protecting it from evil (along with the world?)
And the Willow/Vasuki stuff was interesting as well. We now know just how she gets to the plane where she and Vasuki can talk, and we have hints about just how deep their relationship goes--pretty damn deep if you ask me. Not to mention the fact that she asked Kennedy to help her get there--I'm sure she didn't tell her who she was going to see--and Kennedy had to engage in one of the most intimate acts that two humans can engage in, all to help Willow go the plane where she can see the thing that she is cheating on Kennedy with. Damn. That's bad mojo right there, son.
Overall, this was a most interesting issue. I'm glad it turned out better than I expected it to, and it gave us tons of stuff to ponder over. With this level of a set up, the finale must be awesome.

I had a dream that Part IV ended without Buffy getting back to present and the next issue or two would have something to do with her getting back. So it was like the arc folded over into the rest of the season. It was interesting.
And I'm still trying to decide if killing Fray would be a good idea next issue. I mean, they probably won't use her character much after this unless she goes back to the present with Buffy which I highly doubt. It will certainly come as a shock if they do kill her off.

Well, while Mel probably won't appear in S8 again, there's certainly plenty of interest among the fans (and, I believe, Joss himself) in more "Fray" stories. In fact, Scott Allie had a quote a few months ago something to the effect of, while there are no firm plans for more "Fray" anytime soon, this arc will leave some things hanging in the world of Mel that leave the door wide open for a sequel. So I'm not really expecting her to die next ish, unless it's one of those questionable deaths that can later be retconned into, "No, she didn't die at all, it just appeared that she did..." :broody:

They're the best kinds of death. Aren't they? I doubt Fray will be killed, or any of the major Fray players, including Gunther. This is Buffy's story afterall. If anything big needs to go down in Fray's world, I'd like it to be in her story, as in a sequel miniseries that I hope we get one day. Perhaps before Season Nine begins, Joss and Karl can do another Fray miniseries.

She is my favorite slayer, though, so I would like her to die in her own story. I just want to see Joss kill off a main and keep them dead. See if he can do it. I'm so morbid.

I agree--if Harth is going to be killed at some point, I'd much prefer it happen under the "Fray" title where Mel and Harth have the spotlight, than here in S8, where they're sort of a side-story...

I have a thought about FDW, and whether or not she is really evil in the future.
In the television series, Buffy made numerous sacrifices in her role as slayer. She stabbed Angel, stabbed Anya, alienated friends at times, and even worked at DoubleMeat Palace (I really disliked that storyline, but I digress). Xander also made sacrifices. He offered himself to be killed when Willow wanted to destroy the world, and, later, he lost an eye in battle. Willow, on the other hand, has never made a true personal sacrifice in her Scooby service. Tara died, but that was not a conscious sacrifice on Willow's part. Instead, Willow’s history shows she simply tries to fix things quickly with magic.
Perhaps, in Season 8, we are seeing Willow making one of the biggest sacrifices of all. How ironic would it be if her character, who so often wants to fix things quickly, might have had to live 200 years to right a wrong.

Hey! I was re-reading this issue (still a month till part 4 grrrrr...). In the last page, when Fray's saying "Saving the world", it seems like she has a strange green light behind her back. And I'm pretty sure that's the same green color of FDW's mojo. Any hint about it? Like: Body-changing sort of thin or dude that's just Haddyn's light color?

Why do you think Saga Vasuki ordered Willow to not look in the future once she crosses? I'm a little intrigued about that...

If that's the case about the shape-shifting, everyone on this forum should give you karma. If Melaka is somehow affected/replaced by Willow, taht would explain her attacking Buffy. After all, why would Melaka trust Willow that easily? Why do you think Saga Vasuki ordered Willow to not look in the future once she crosses? I'm a little intrigued about that... Because then Willow would see her future self I guess, and be sad/afraid/ try to change the future, etcetc, A.K.A. react in a way Saga wouldn't like.
