After seeing the responses about the possibility of Pike in Season Eight or Nine, I'm surious as to how many of our members have actually seen the Buffy movie. So...?

Saw some of it a couple of years ago. HATED it! Never watched it again and have no plans to watch it again.

Although bad, it's a guilty pleasure. I like watching it for Kristy Swanson's hottness and Paul Reubens' hilarious performance. There are a few funny moments in it too.

I had fun watching the movie for the first time, but it cannot compare to the show. An acquaintance (not a friend) told me once that the movie was so much better than the show, but he was a huge pothead so I think we know why he thought that. Idiot.

the best part is when Paul Reubens' vampire character keeps dying...and dying...and dying...and dying LOL

I watch it all the time and I absolutely love it. Obviously the show is way better, but I still like the movie!

I saw the movie when it came out, and have watched it a few times since then. It's alright ... I can see elements of the show in it and what it was intended to be, but it definitely has some good camp appeal. The biggest difference is the fight scenes. Poorly done, weak, and without the intensity from the show.

I have seen it, and I have it on DVD, but I don't really care for the movie all that much. I mean, I certainly appreciate the movie for what it is. It was Joss' original conception of the show, and without the original movie, we may never have gotten the tv series.
I just have a really hard time seeing anybody but SMG as Buffy.

I've seen it and own it on DVD. I think it's funny that Joss made it a comedy not a drama like the show.

The E4 add made me lol Its silly fun i guess. I don't really mind the film i would say i like it too. You cant really compare it to the show because the story was told in such a small amount of time compared to the show. Plus it didn't have SMG in it But it was still good. I just count it as non-Buffy cannon and just something for fun.

Yeah. I watched it before the show came on. I think I was around 5 or 6 at the time. It wasn’t my type of movie. And its like they weren’t serious about it. It didn’t have that drama and didn’t have the element of surprise. Did vampires even die in that movie? Buffy staked but they just fell to the ground. And Lothos' right hand man kept making stupid sounds when he was*dying*. And what was up with Merrick giving Buffy to Lothos? It’s like he was just sacrificing her. It was like a drug deal gone wrong. And the vampires pause before biting their victims. AND IT WASN’T EVEN FUNNY!

Yup, I've seen it. I liked the premise but the movie just has the wrong feel to it.

I thought Lothos making all the moaning sounds was hilarious, but not fit for the original idea of the film.

i've seen it a couple times and i have mixed feelings about it. sometimes it's kinda funny, but overall i think it was pretty stupid. it's a good thing Joss was still able to do the tv show the way he wanted after the controlled trainwreck the movie turned out to be. if i don't really think about it as being Buffy the movie is a little more enjoyable. but when i think how the movie is supposed to be about Buffy (like in the show) i can't stop judging the movie and thinking how stupid it is. i'm glad the movie came out the year i was born so i didn't see it before i watched the show. b/c if i would've seen that b4 i watched the show i might not have watched the show.

I have not seen it and quite frankly don't have a burning desire to, though I suppose I probably should at some point. Still, since I know Joss wasn't happy with the final product and it is non-canon, plus since most people seem to hate it... I never really wanted to watch it.

I saw it about 5 or 6 years ago when it was on TV late one night and didn't exactly hate it but was in no rush to see it again. On it's own, as a movie it's "okay" but compared to buffy it is utter s*****

i love the movie when i first saw it! Kristy Swanson RULED! To be honest, i didnt watch the series when it first started, so the movie was more important to me Not to mention the fact that around that time, my cousin was the spitting image of Kristy Swanson, no joke. She was like, her double. People in my Primary school actually thought it was her Love the movie, still watch it regularly

Isn't it said that Joss actually cried during the production of that movie?
I've seen it. S'alright. It likely wouldn't be for me without loving the show first though.
