Isn't it said that Joss actually cried during the production of that movie? I've seen it. S'alright. It likely wouldn't be for me without loving the show first though. Haha, the reminds, there is a video somewhere on YouTube from the set when the movie wrapped, and near the end it goes to Joss and he says into the camera, "It was funny when I wrote it."

It's an awful movie. I guess if it didn't carry the Buffy name it would be a little better, but it's not a good movie at all. I hate that it carries the Buffy name.

I've never seen it and don't plan too. I have "The Origin" from the comic series, and that's enough for me.

I saw it before I watched the series. I sort of regret that decision, now. Poor Joss, it wasn't his fault. But at least I knew that the TV series was better at the time.

um....I LOVE that movie. I dont think it was an awful decision to watch it first at all. Its the evolution of a character and a plot. It's like watching the original Family Guy, which totally has nothing to do with what it is now.
I'm actually shocked a lot of you don't appreciate it. No its not dark, but if you watch the first season, it has the same camp value. I speak the truth!
Everyone who's saying "I refuse to see it"....you're missing out on pure HISTORY of the Buffy legacy. I guess you dont have to like it, but heres the way to watch it.
Watch it as if it has nothing to do with the series (because it doesn't, only it kind of does....) and just enjoy the cheesiness of it. Don't try to imagine Sarah in the part, or Merrick as Giles or Lothos as the Master. This was the beginning. Joss didnt completely love The Origin either, so if your dislike of the movie has anything to do with his problems with the movie.....thats silly too.
WATCH IT. I swear if your capable, it wont ruin Buffy for you.

I completley agree with you Dahlia. It doesn't affect the show at all.
