Who do you like better, Fred or Illyria?

I love both of them. Fred is my all time favorite Buffyverse character ever. Illyria is my second, but her and Fred are kinda the same person. I saw that when they talk about favorite characters people put "Fred/Illyria", but who do you like better?

I'm going with Fred.

Illyria. Her moral ambiguity and struggle to fit into the world was a better fit for Angel than Fred's perfectly sweet and innocent schtick. Sorry, I never cared for Fred. Angel S5 didn't really start taking off for me until Fred exited the building and Illyria entered.

Sure, Fred turned her back on Wesley in season 3 and practically cheated on Gunn in season 4, but she's still a good guy. Eh, girl.

Illyria. I love them both though. They are both on my top ten list in terms of favorite character, Illyria is just a little higher up.

I was so disappointed with Illyria! I'd heard so much about her and I when I finally saw Angel Season 5 a few months back, I was like... hmm so that's her. I want Fred!

Illyria is easily one of the coolest television characters of all time, but I went with Fred. If the WB hadn't of... you know, I'm sure I'd like Illyria more. We only saw her for eight episodes, one for only two seconds. It's enough to think she's cool, but not above Fred's level.

Seriously, I'd like to take a second to comment on just what an amazing actress she is... through out the show's run, she played like 4 completely different characters. Crazy Fred, Regular Fred, Vengeance Fred, and Illyria. She is just so amazing at anything she does that I hardly care what character she's playing, she's just awesome to watch, period. One of my chief regrets about Angel being cancelled is not seeing more of Amy playing Illyria, cause there was so much more depth left there to plumb... But Fred was just amazing and is probably my second favorite Buffyverse character next to Wesley.

Liked Fred when she was a bit nuts. She got dull and diluted in Season 4. She even lost her texan accent.

Illyria was cool-ass. I'm voting her.

I went with Fred. I do really love them both though. When Fred leaves the show, Illyria becomes my favorite Buffyverse character in place of Fred. I mean, they are both awesome.

It's amazing how Amy is such a good actress then she can create two different characters that everyone can't decide who they like better. If that made any sense.

I'm gonna go with Illyria. Two of my favorite AtS characters, no doubt, and Fred got much more screen time, obviously... but Illyria was just awesome. Love her philosophical ruminations. If only she was in more episodes!

For the record, Fred was a great character, too.

Um...Spike and Angel are murderers too let's not forget. Same can be said about...actually a large portion of the Buffyverse good-guys

As for the poll. Going with artiswar here. Both through Amy. To go from sweet little Fred and jumping immediately into someone like Illyria is some raw skill.

Though I think Illyria is totally awesome, I LOVE Fred. Her sweetness and great personality, coupled with the slight crazyness of season two and three make her a very interesting character. I vote Fred.

I really like them both, but I am a bigger fan of sweet, lil southern Fred (even tho her accent kind of disappeared after a few episodes...)

Much easier to love Fred than it is Illyria, only because Fred had more screen time and Illyria was only in 8 episodes or so. But I think it really shows how great a charatcer Illyria really is considering Fred had 3 seasons and Illyria only had a handful of episodes and she still has a few votes.
