BUY-A-FIGURE DAY 2 Press Release:
Save BUFFY Figures!
On August 22nd 2007 Chuck Terceira, Director of Diamond Select Toys pulled the plug on the upcoming releases of Buffy the Vampire Slayer action figures. In less than a day fans rallied to take action. In hopes of securing a release for the said figures, Philip M, administrator of SlayAlive and BtVSFigs has organized the Save BUFFY Figures campaign! A one day event; where participants purchase at least one figure directly from Diamond Select. After a successful purchasing event that took place on August 29th, another event has been scheduled. This day-long event will happen September 26th, 2007. International customers are encouraged to join as well, by ordering through other venues. Fans are also encouraged to buy more that just a single figure, if possible. The continuous goal is to cause sell-outs at online retailers.
In 2001, previous BtVS license holder Moore Action Collectibles cancelled their figures as well. Fans reacted in the same fashion then, which resulted in Diamond's take over. To date, DST has produced over 100 unique action figures under their Buffy the Vampire Slayer license, as well as a variety of other products ranging from plush to statues and prop replicas.
If you would like to take part in this event, follow-up at SlayAlive or BtVSFigs and contact the administration team for more information.
### Feel free to link our Press Release at your discretion. Make sure to link SlayAlive and BtVSFigs whenever you post this! And as always, thanks for your continuing support!Best, Philip M. SlayAlive Admin/BtVSFigs Moderator

I can't believe I said "awesome-ness". Spending a week with my evil, corny sister fries my brain.

They need to have more figures before I'll participate in another one! I already have every single figure I want, and many many multiples.

I definitely participated, and got the $200 package deal from BCC. I decided I wanted to open my Essence of...Willow statue (I'm a MOC/MIB collector), so I will now have 2...one to showcase! Plus, the Angel comics all covers? And the free figures and 10 figs? It was time to renew anyways, so now I don't even have to worry about that, since I'm in for life! LOL.

To show support I purchased a Deluxe Kendra figure. Given I hve all the figures, it didn't make sense for me to purchase any more. I wanted to show my support for the cause.

I just bought the "High School Memories" set from Cinequest, which includes: "prom" Buffy/Angel cheerleader Buffy 2 accessory sets 2 loose Buffy or Angel figures and the library playset!
also, a free vampire angel will be added.
I hope this will bring more buffy merchandise in the future!

If I didn't already have those things, it was definitely a great concept. I love how the retailers put together all those packaged deals...so cool!! Plus, a great idea to "up" the purchase...
