How did you feel about the ending? (spoilers)

It was sad and depressing, no doubt, but I expected it. After finishing Act 2, I had a feeling there would be consequences and Penny was gunna get it. Why? This is Joss! And I'm sorry, but it's getting predictible now.

I still loved it though. It makes me so sad that Billy wasn't at the laundromat with her that day, she even brought him frozen yogurt!

That was exactly what I thought was going to happen. It was ironic, because she had just realized how weird and egotistical Hammer was and got up to walk away and then... It was so Joss. You could see it coming from a mile away.

The day Joss Whedon lets the sympathetic characters live is the day I'm surprised by a Joss ending. I'm kind of hoping he will some day, just to throw us all off.

I liked the whole thing. The ending wasn't fun, but endings scarcely are.

Aww, we only get three acts? I thought there would be more, I just started enjoying them. lol Oh well, I loved the ending. It did seem obvious that Penny was going to die, but I was still surprised to see it. lol, overall it was a great ending, Captain Hammer was So funny with how he reacted to the pain. Dr. Horrible's new red outfit and ending song was great too.

I was totally caught off guard at Penny's death. I kept thinking that Dr. Horrible could fix her somehow and become the hero.
I loved the show. I hope there are mor of them. The songs are fantastic!

It was sad that Penny died (love Felicia Day) but...it's Joss Whedon. He kills off the popular characters.

Honestly? It made me cry. I loved the suddenness of the ending, as well as the bit showing that Dr. H was severely affected by his actions at the end. ("A thing.") A happy ending would've been nice, but I wasn't expecting one. This IS Joss, after all. As a whole, I loved it.

I was sobbing and cursing Joss for a while. But I stopped to think and realized: "Anya. Tara. Fred. Doyle. Cordelia... yep, he always kills off the most loved characters." So it was pretty obvious that he would kill her off.

I loved the ending to bits, though. With the last few words and all... ahhh it was so great.

The ending was tough. Everything before that was really funny and so you kind of go into that scene not expecting something so dramatic to happen. I have to hand it to Joss and company though, they got me. I didn't see it coming. Looking back I totally should have, I mean it's such a Joss thing to do.

RIP Penny. You are in a long line of wonderful Whedonverse characters who've bit the dust.

The ending of Penny dying worked in the context of this particular thing, but other endings could have worked to. However, the instant the love triangle was shown I knew she was dead. Thus, the emotional impact of the story was entirely lost on me. I didn't care about Penny because I knew she was a dead girl walking and nothing more.

Whedon's writing when it comes to love is becoming entirely predictable and boring. He needs a new was to torture his characters.

I thought it would end happily too. I didn't really like how it ended, even though it is typical Joss. Maybe Joss could have give us one happy ending for a change?

I am a bit late to the party - but had to post and say how much I ADORED this musical. Like most others I expected a light frothy fun musical...which is what we got for the most part...until Dr Horrible came to assassinate Hammer. Then it took a turn for the unexpected - and raised it far above a 'fun experiment'...it was heartbreaking. I was shocked and gobsmacked by what happened. I can honestly say I did not expect it- and I know I know...the Whedon deathmachine strikes again...but I really didnt expect it in this. I thought that Penny would stop Hammer from killing Billy...and that there would be a song of reconciliation between Billy and Penny...and that Hammer would be all bummed at having lost Penny but then go off with the groupies. La La La La La....

Not so much.

I cant believe my heart was broken from a 45 minute web musical.

Honestly? the thought hadn't even crossed my mind that he would kill her off. This was a 40 minute comedy musical. Its not that i didnt expect it, i hadn't even considered he would do it.
After that death, i feel like Joss is trying to make it clear that he can get you involved in a characters death. Whether it be a character from a comic book, or a character from a 40 minute comedy. Ive now learnt the hard way and i pray that he throws us a happy ending somewhere in the future. Please. If Joss keeps on like this, i may end up spiraling into depression.
