Ignoring the numbers, Buffy is holding up well against the competition. ATF is IDW's biggest seller as well, although Buffy is selling about double the numbers.

It should be noted that comics sales in general have dropped considerably over the last couple of years. Season 8 is still maintaining a very good position in the crowd... its sales haven't been dropping at any greater a rate than all the other comics.
It's the #1 comic not published by Marvel or DC, and I believe is Dark Horse's top seller of all time. So no reason to worry.

There are so many people who were not into comics and started buying Buffy comics. I never was a comic buyer before Season 8 came around.

This is why sales of the trade paperbacks are so important to the Buffy comics. A lot of the readers wouldn't even know where to find a comics shop, and wouldn't dare go inside if they did. But the TPB's are easy to get in a regular bookstore or online.
And happily, they're doing just as well on the sales charts as the individual issues are.

The first time I stepped in my local comicbook store in Boston, I felt like a bull in a china shop. I just felt awkward like that was not my place. I was back from work and I was wearing a nice suit with a tie and stuff, and I was surrounded by geeks and hardcore comics readers... but eventually I did manage to get ahold of my precious Buffy comics without feeling like anybody was judging!!

It is, thats so cool!!! But it looks like there is a decline in interest. I know the world's eonomy has gone to pot but this is Buffy!! The decline in interest is the same one affecting the whole comics industry. Its position relative to other comics has stayed about the same. It's only missed the Top 15 once, which is just amazing for a title that's not published by Marvel or DC. Once we get out of these standalone issues and back into the meat of the story, things will probably pick up too.
