I found the chosen collection at Costco for only $99.99!! I was going to buy it off of Amazon.com but since I'm very particular about the packaging being perfect, I was hesitant. I already had every season on DVD but the box set really is beautiful. I was able to sell my Buffy DVDs to half-price books for $75.
It was a very good day.
Unfortunately, costco did not have the Angel box set anymore.
Who has the chosen collection? Who prefers the individual seasons?
I went from the original DVDs to slim cases to chosen collection.

I have both the Chosen Collection and the individual DVDs (UK first release) because while Chosen collection looks awesome and has additional bonus DVD, the UK album-like sets look also cool and have both wide-screen (season 4 onward) and the "Previously On Buffy..." clips at the beginning of the episodes (except season 2, I think).

I'd like to pick it up at some point, because my collection is on the uneven side; we started with season six and worked backwards to season two, because our local DVD warehouse had the bulky European boxsets in at reduced price. Three cases, each with two DVDs, inside one big slipcase. Then we got the rereleased season one and the UK slipcase season seven. They're all very well-loved, though. I think they've been all over the country with me on my travels, and the cases are all a bit on the grubby side, so I'd probably have a hard time selling them. Shame, that.

I have the individual seasons in the slim cases. I bought most of them on-line and I love the Chosen Collection too! It's so awesome but I don't have that, I might one day though! lol!

I have all of the seasons in the larger cases. I prefer them to the slim packs. I think they are a very nice way to own all of the episodes and also, they are a beautiful and substantial addition to any collection. heck they are their own mini collection. The slim cases don't do it for me. they seem cheep imo. Sure they take up less space but what is wrong with taking up space with something awesome looking? I have yet to buy the chosen set because of the cost.

I had a few of the larger boxes but when the slim cases came out I finished my collection with those and replaced my larger boxes (except for season 1 as it fits well with the slim cases). Really I don't see much of a difference when displayed (i display mine with spine out), plus they are all you can really find now and are a great price here - around $20 a season - I won't pay a lot for a tv series, even one I love as much as Buffy.
I thought about getting The Chosen Collection, around the time the slim cases started coming out since it worked out to be about the same price but I really think it is a shitty collection. They could have included more extras with it (either media content or other swag) and the packaging is kinda boring - especially when compared to some of the other complete series collections out there. I hope they re release it/re-package it in the near future with more stuff and a cooler design. I'd love to see something like the Charmed Book of Shadows set they release overseas (AUS I think?)

I've got the UK original packaging. The book style is rather classy I think. They cost a fair bit back then though. I have no desire to get the collection boxes.

I have all the Buffy & Angel series in the original DVD sets. I bought them as they came out, starting with Buffy Season 2's release. I hate unfurling each set just to get to disc 1 or 6 or whatever. I was mad that they were re-released in slim cases like Futurama was... the way they should have been from the start. I won't buy them again until both series are remastered for whatever format comes after Blu-Ray / HD-DVD. (Sony sucks, and HD is dying it seems.) I also refuse to buy the complete series sets just to get a bonus DVD. I'd rather acquire a copy from someone, or just download the material or something.
Same thing goes for the original Star Wars trilogy, except I want the originals remastered and unaltered along with whatever further tinkering Lucas decides to do in the future, and all of the deleted scenes remastered.
Sorry, there's my DVD rant for the day...

I have all of Buffy in their original, large boxes, and I have all of Angel in the smaller slipcases.
I would like to one day upgrade them both to the complete collections.

I've got the original UK Buffy complete DVD collection (limited edition) and I've got the complete Angel set in those new packaging styles in a complete collection. Very happy with my DVD collection.
