***I hope this it the right section. These are Custom Props, but they arent Customs.....but theyre Props. So I hope its OK to post them in this section***
Hey All
I dont post here often, but i want to start doing do, more often.
Anyways. I study ModelMaking in College and so far, I have made 2 Prop Replicas from the show. How cool is that, I basically get to watch Buffy for research and then spend my College Timetable, making props from the show.
So, in other words. Buffy is helping me to get a qualification. Is there anything she CANT do?
Yeh, So in my first year, I made my own version of The Slayers Scythe.
It collapses into 4 pieces, so it can be stored easier and reduce size for shipping
This is real CAST ALUMINIUM, with genuine leather grip and a candy red powder coating on the blade. The red is see through, as it was on the show.
I made the master blade from wood, by carving it out by hand, and then got it cast in metal
The black bands are them little Scooby Doo things, you know, what you make into keychains
Progression of the Scythe's creation (thumbnail):
Heres my little Buffy Exhibition at College
Next Up is my Buffy/ Olaf Enchanted Trolls Hammer
My Trolls Hammer was easier and quicker to make, but it wont last as long as the Scythe.
The hammer was made in 3 weeks, i used wood and foam for this, so its super light. I can pick it up in one hand, it makes me feel all strong like Buffy
So. I had very few references of the hammer, especially size. So I used the little Hammer that came with the figures. Its not 100% accurate, but its close enough. I measured it and enlarged the scale by 12.
I sculpted the head out of Blue Foam and then covered it in Car Body filler to give it a tough shell AND to get the texture of cast metal or stone, or whatever the hammer is ment to be
I then sprayed it and finished the painting by hand
Heres the finished hammer
And heres the photo with effects, for my Portfolio
These 2 im definately keeping. Im in the middle of Buffys Hunga Munga too.
But i have a whole list to work through, which i will most likely be selling when they are done
Id love to know what you all think
