Soon, everyone will be able to afford their own scythe!!! taken from cinequest.com: Now, Factory X adds the miniature version of the Slayer's Scythe th the highly popular Buffy the Vampire Slayer prop replica series. The Miniature Slayer's Scythe was created referencing the full 1:1 version produced by Factory X. The original Factory X 1:1 Scythe was crafted by using Joss Whedon's personal souvenir prop scythe as reference. The collectible miniture Slayer's Scythe is 10.5 inches long and weighs less then1 pound, making this Slayer's Scythe a must have for every office desk and serious collector of Buffy prop replicas. This handsome piece makes a great letter opener or simply protection for those that hunt the night. ________________________________________________ I can't wait to have my own lil' scythe! only $22.99

I just saw this in an email I got from them. I am getting one for sure! I may not every be able to get one of the actual sized scythes, so I will have to just make do with one of these.
*excited*

I think it's such a great idea since many people can't afford the full scale scythe. Hopefully this prop will actually come out, although I'm pretty sure it will since they say they will be shipping out in June.

That's pretty cool...although I was under the impression that Factory X went out of business/DST took the props license! So this boggles my mind. Cool news though, but I still wish I could get the full scale one.

I'm going to hold out until someone else gets one/can post pics. The promo pics on TST make it look...kind of cheap and weird.

I will indeed. I'll snap a photo of it too if I can find the USB cord for my camera.

So, what's the verdict? Are they any good? I'm asking, because it looks like the BCC has more in stock...

So, what's the verdict? Are they any good? I'm asking, because it looks like the BCC has more in stock... I think so. It's pretty good quality, especially for the price! It's got a nice weight to it and definetly falls into the high-quality replica rather then cheap toy in my books. I would say get it. You can defiently tell some care was put into it's production, and wasn't just come cheap throw together.

I would suggest looking on ebay's different sites, for example ebay.com and ebay.co.uk Try to find a reliable seller(one that doesn't have much negative feedback) and compare prices. A few online stores should have them too. Posting a request in the "desperatly seeking" thread in the selling section on this site could work too, or on this site btvsfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?Maybe someone is selling theirs.

Isn't the stake end of these replicas kinda cheap looking? That was my impression of the full-size product...
