I've never tried it and don't ever plan on doing so. It is medically useful but I wouldn't use it. For people who just use it for whatever...I won't judge. I personally don't really care what people do with their lives. If they choose to use it, fine. If they're cool people, I wouldn't say no to hanging out with them. But honestly I would probably try to stay away from those individuals.

Just make it legal. First off, I have never smoked weed and I never PLAN on smoking weed. Doing something that makes you act like a complete brain-fried dumbass while slowly killing yourself just doesn't seem fun to me. It's illegal, people are still doing it no matter what, it's just as bad as alcohol and cigarettes, so what's the big deal? Either make it legal, or make cigs and alcohol illegal.

I think it should be legal. I think it should be treated like alcohol meaning you must be of a certain age and cannot drive under the influence. I would even say there should be a zero tolerance when it comes to driving under the influence of marijuana. I think it's ridiculous that it is not legal yet. I think our country needs to stop "protecting" us from things like this and focus on more important issues. That is just my opinion. I can understand people uncomfortable feeling about it. If I walked into a party where everyone was shooting up heroin I'd leave. Personally, I don't find marijuana that much more harmful than booze or cigarettes.

Hahaha. I live in Alaska. Practically everyone smokes pot up here. But yeah, I would most likely never do it, though I think should be legalized. It's not as harmful as other drugs, (heroin, meth, crack, club drugs, etc), and people are gonna do it anyways even if it's not legal. Putting my 2 cents in.

I would even say there should be a zero tolerance when it comes to driving under the influence of marijuana. First of all, I highly disagree with this statement. I don't think it should be treated like alcohol (and of course there's a zero tolerance on driving the influence on anything!), I think that's one of the dumbest things I heard, no offense. Where I live, i see people smoking pot all the time. I see people smoking pot alot, especially my older brother, and i've seen what it does to you. After seeing my brother do stupid things, I am 110% against marijuana. I never tried it and I never will.

legalize it but dont make it crazy expensive afterwards lol.
I love my some ganja. its a great way to unwind if you dont have an addictive personality and can do things in moderation. Some people just want more more more, and in that sense it is a gateway drug. but these people are just like the people who drink all day long just to get drunk.
You do stupid things if you're stupid to begin with. I went to an arts school where maybe 20 people didnt partake (not including teachers because some of them were stoners too lol). Tokers can be some of the most amazing and innovative people you'll ever meet.
It all depends on your intentions of getting high in my opinion.
But I applaud those who decline for VALID reasons. I just hope people aren't believing the T.R.U.T.H ads and all the propaganda videos. in 60 years we'll be watching those things just as we do Reefer Madness and Cocaine Fiend!

I think that's one of the dumbest things I heard, no offense. Why? How is it different from any other controlled substance that makes you do stupid things; Like say, alcohol? BEWARE THE GATEWAY DRUG! Yes! I started using the demon weed a mere few years ago and now I mainline heroin into my eye every night. " Yeah, I used to get stoned. A few years back, I was pretty down. I had just started this job, and my plugs weren't taking, my parents were brutally murdered, and I was fat. So I turned to pot hoping it would solve all my problems. But you know something? The only thing it fixed was my life."

How is it different from any other controlled substance that makes you do stupid things; Like say, alcohol? Actually it is very different. One of my friends is taking a college course on "The Myths of Drugs" and marijuana is big one. When you are drunk, it makes you careless and crazy. When you are high, it makes you mellow and paranoid. Tests have been done with people driving high and drunk while staying inside orange traffic cones. The person that was drunk sped and hit mostly all of the cones and the person high went extra slow and was paranoid about knocking over the cones.

The person that was drunk sped and hit mostly all of the cones and the person high went extra slow and was paranoid about knocking over the cones. Well, that makes it extra easy to catch them then, doesn't it? I think the point being made was that impaired is impaired, and whether you're drunk or stoned, you shouldn't be operating any machinery. Heck, you really shouldn't be operating anything except some basic motor functions anyway. Personally, I've done both. Do I like either? Not really... my body doesn't like the feeling the morning after, and I'm usually pretty miserable. And so, I actually don't do either much. Alcohol more than marijuana (I can count the amount of times I've experimented with marijuana on 1 hand, and I have the usual number of digits). The experience with marijuana was interesting (of all the times I've tried it, I've only been high once)... I was hyper-analytical, and was very aware of my surroundings (i.e. this can very well segue into paranoia), but I remember everything about that night. My point is (and most of you probably just skipped to this anyway), if you're not being stupid, it really shouldn't matter, and I agree that rather than just police it rather ineffectually, legal sales should be regulated (i.e. quality control, etc). The random peddler on the street... you can nab those. Let me put it this way; if you're not likely to try marijuana now for valid ethical reasons, you're not likely to run out and buy a cartload just because it's made legal. Those who hate what it does to their loved ones will still hate it. It's legal to buy guns in Texas, and I'm still against them. The laws regarding reckless endangerment of the public need not change; you'll still get your ass busted if you decide to drive impaired.

Im 150% against it and i in no way believe it should be legal.
It's stupid a waste of money and controls you life, i don't care if you think you use it appropriately, because in my mind it's still a drug and not a necessary one.

i haven't tried it and i don't plan on it, but i think it should be legalized and i don't mind if others do it. i have a lot of friends that do it. i don't mind as long they don't try to get me to do it. even if it isn't legalized, i think it should at least be allowed for medicinal use. i agree that it should be treated like alcohol.

No, prescription drugs are prescribed for a reason, most of the people i know that smoke marijuana use it simple to get high and escape reality and that's what i don't agree with it's simply a waste of time and money and always seem to lead to the use of other illegal drugs marijuana is addictive and IMO pointless and while i know it can help with some things i just don't think it's a necessary thing. I have my opinions from personal experience and growing up i hated knowing my family members would waste money and time getting high just because they needed to get away from the real world. And on a lighter note....it really stinks. Edit: I also believe that by making it legal your simply encouraging the next generation to smoke it, and that's not cool.

well that's what confused me. I actually just finished reading an article on substance abuse and dependency and prescription drugs are just as abused as illegal substances. People lie all the time to get scripts and then pay even MORE money for them (even after insurance). Especially right now we as a country are seeing a rise in over prescription. Doctors tend to give patients drugs to shut their complaining up.
But just like any recreational activity....there's always someone who thinks its a waste of time and money. There are people who think our love and obsession with certain television shows are a waste of time and money. Playing video games to some is a waste of time and money. Entertainment is a drug in some ways and people use it to get away from the real world just as others use herbal substances such as marijiuana.
But at the end of the day it doesn't matter because its that persons time and money, ya know?

Personally I don't think that it matters whether it's legal or not If somebody is going to try something or is curious or interested in anyway they will get around to it somehow it might not be the next week or even the next month but one day they will have the oppertunity and take it.
