I wish people would read reliable and unbiased reports on drugs before spewing mush. Most of the stuff people say about marijuana use is highly suspect because they are based on outdated data. The country is still trying to scare people into keeping it illegal because if its legal then they lose a looooot of money. And if they make it legal the gov is going to want to distribute it. You're gonna get lower quality with a higher price and rules and regulations on when and where and how you can use it. The US will never tolerate it like Amsterdam. We will want to capitalize on it and dominate it.

I'm guessing that you're being sarcastic. Not quite sure but that's the vibe I'm getting.

Marijuana when smoked causes lung issues, which is why a lot of people are getting into cooking with it. You also get a longer and more steady high when ingested. There's also the danger or skunk, in which things like glass and chemicals are infused with the weed to make it look better and to give a more intense high. Just imagine inhaling small microscopic shards of glass....scary.

But again these things are happening not with those who grow their own, or those who purchase from reputable sources, but people who buy on the street corners from gang affiliates etc.

You always have to know where your product is coming from, just like with organic foods.

It's seen as rebellious because it isn't legal. and again, because governments tell you over and over that its bad and you'll get in trouble.

Don't do it if you don't want to, but don't feel you are superior because of your choice...


It's like when people exclaim that they have never had a cigarette in their life....do they want cookies and balloons for such an achievement? They're probably still scarfing down McDonald's and mac and cheese so they are only a fraction more healthy than someone who has two smokes a day lol

Well, the first two sentences were an apology for posting before having the facts. The last two lines were an attempt to lighten the mood, because doing drugs is usually seen as a bad thing to do, and people who want to be cool do ”bad things”. And if the bad thing isn't bad, it's not cool.

So not sarcastic, just joking. I used a winking Faith and thought that would do the trick...


So, no brain damage, but lung damage? Not really better, but yeah, I have no right to look down at ”pot heads”. I have addictions myself.

I've tried it but I didn't get what the big deal was. I dislike the smell.

It has some great medicinal properties though and hemp clothing can be cheaply made and produced. It should be made legal and taxed...it would help the economy a lot.

Just think of all the money that it takes to arrest and imprison all the pot smokers that get caught. Imagine how much federal money that will be saved...that money could go into schools...health care...feeding the hungry. Pot-smoking may be unhealthy and bad for you but there would be a lot of good to come out of the legalizing of it.

I find that drinking alcohol is far less pleasant than smoking marijuana. I also find that the physical pro's and con's for alcohol consumption are far "worse" than those of marijuana. Furthermore, I find that people who abuse pot do not cause as much "trouble" as those who abuse alcohol. But then I can only speak from my own experiences.

As with any substance, it all depends on your own level of responsibility. If you go up to a dealer you've never dealt with before and ask for something and then go smoke too much alone and then go for a joy ride, yeah that's probably not going to end well. But if you know and trust the source of the substance, and treat it with respect and know your own limits, then it'll probably be quite enjoyable.

I will not ever smoke cigarettes due to a life-long learned aphasia to them thanks to my to smoker parents, but I do enjoy the ganja, because it is not an every-day thing that will actually cause a lot of harm to my system, it is a rare casual activity that I do in social settings and it's relaxing and fun.

There. Now back to lurking..

The only problem is that marijuana these days are usually laced with PCP, LSD or something to give that extra 'boost' or whatever. I'm fine with people smoking that cannabis as long as its naturally grown, but these days, laced is all you can get. So I've heard...

Not true at all. Weed isn't "usually" laced with anything. Rarely to the extreme.
