I thought I would create a thread for each book in the Twilight series. This was we don't always have to use the spoiler buttons.
In this thread you can discuss book 2 of the Twilight saga New Moon

Really? Nobody has posted in here? Probably because this section of the forum isn't all that popular.
In any case, I enjoyed this book. One thing that really bothered me though is how they concentrate on Victoria throughout the book, leading us to believe they will catch her by the end of the book, but then the whole storyline kinda changes.
My favourite parts of the book (which I look forward to in the film and hope for good acting) are when Bella jumps off the cliff and when Bella stops Edward from exposing himself in Volturra.
I feel so sorry for Jacob on this book. Although I do think he acts a little desperate at times. I dont see why he wants Bella so much anyway. Deep down he knows that if he ever did get her, he would probably end up inprinting on someone else and break her heart.
I think I am going to read this book agaon before the movie is released, or maybe I will read the whole zaga again for fun, one can never get enough Twilight.

New Moon.. Not my favorite Twilight book, probably because I am very much Team Edward. Sometimes I feel bad for Jacob, and then other times I think he's a jerk and he brings things down upon himself. And I'm trying to think of something else to say about it, but I can't think of much plot to comment on. Oh well.

I am the same in that way. I am all for team Edward. Sometimes feel bad for Jacob and other times I think he is a jerk.

I think after Edward left, it's quite... boring. I'm reading it now.

I totally agree with you Renee. It just seems like the story went downhill until Alice came back and went to Italy with Bella to save Edward.

Well in a way I agree, yet in a way I don't. If Edward hadn't have left then the Jacob/Edward rivalery would not have been as important further in the story because Bella would not have had the time to become close to Jacob. Its also a great way for us to be introduced to all the wolves and get to know their myths, familys and friends. I agree that it was different and at times did seem boring, but I think it was needed. Also, it seemed pretty boring because we are reading the book from Bellas point of view and she was pretty depressed when Edward left so it would be weird if she was happy

Yeah, I agree with you. I would prefer the story to be more Edward than Jacob, but I think it was good to introduce the wolves. While I could do without all the Jacob/Edward drama this book introduces, this is really the only book I genuinely like Jacob in. I think its because he isn't all pissy about Bella taking Edward back after he pretty much destroyed her, and he isn't bitter about her not loving him as much. For the most part he just tries to be her friend, and I guess more than that too, but its just not so dramatic, which I like.

Because I read the books so quickly and so close together, I kind of feel like Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse are one long arc for me. Twilight is the Intro, New Moon is the introduction of conflicts and obstacles - plus the brunt of the emotion, and the Eclipse is the climax. I actually love New Moon. It made me so sad it was painful (when Edward left and all) but I love it when books and movies do that to me! Watching the trailer for New Moon was like a reminder of the emotions I felt when reading it and it all came rushing back, and now I know how much I actually loved New Moon because I still feel lots about it!
