Her myspace was updated, and this image is used as a tile in her background. I love it!! So I saved it and uploaded to show you all:

That logo really is awesome. I could definitely see it on TV or on a coffee mug at her desk (if she has a talk show). So cool.

There's almost a retro throwback feel about that logo. Kinda like when MTV was still relevant.

I was thinking about this issue, Scott Allie said they were going to use some "unique" methods of promoting this issue and to check darkhorse.com and myspace in January. Wouldn't it be great if they made a video of Harmony's reality show and had videos and clips on the myspace, that would be a terrific way to promote the issue, it would creat buzz for the series, using the original actors to tie into the comic series. I'm sure Mercedes McNab would film it, with Jane Espenson writing a script, and filming in a similar way to Dr. Horrible, this would be marketing funds well spent!

Hahaha. Andy Dick was the first thing I thought too. I'm hoping the rest of the issue will be more entertaining, this was nothing special. I loved the Lindsay Lohan's mother line though. Jeanty's likeness is pretty much a hit or miss. Looks like Mercedes in one panel, and then nothing like her the next. What Dark Horse did with the variant cover is hilarious, I hope the regular version is like that too.

Doesn't the bouncer that Harmony talks to look exactly like Angel? I was confused for a second.

Interesting preview. So Harmony bites Andy Dick, gets photographed, and that is what brings Vampires into the public eye? Surprisingly hilarious. The actual preview itself was kind of dis-jointed, which makes me wonder if all of the pages aren't in this order in the actual issue. Art was hit or miss for me as well. Not exactly with the likenesses (Mercedes seems like a hard likeness to capture), but the overall quality of the art doesn't seem like Jeanty's best. It may be the coloring as well. Not sure yet. It is great to see Harmony again, and that variant cover is hilarious!

Whedon Fan, I don't know if Marti has any experience with comic book writing.
As for the preview, I'm really excited about Jane Espenson, but Jeanty's Harmony likeness is pretty bad. She looks almost exactly like his Buffy.

I am sort of annoyed that they chose ANDY DICK of all people to be in this. Why him? I hate him!

Phil, it's a good thing that you hate him. Now he's dead! Lol! I think it was supposed to be someone everyone hates so you can cheer on Harmony as she kills him. I really don't see how people are saying that Harmony looks like Buffy. Harmony has a rounder chin, a bigger forehead, the tip of her nose is modeled after McNab's, different shaped lips, big blue eyes. Big round cheekbones. Big two front teeth just like Mcnab. Buffy has a small, pointy chin, a small forehead, the tip of her nose is SMG's, fuller lips without the rounded indentation in the top lip like Harmony, arched eyebrows (Harmony's are round and straight), more delicate cheekbones, green eyes, perfect little smile. A heart-shaped face compared to Harmony's long and round one.

I'm surprised that everyone is complaining about the likeness to Mercedes McNab, this is Jeanty! He has never been that adept at transferring likeness to page. We're halfway through the series, and it surprises me that people are still complaining about this. I made piece with his work after WATG, and given this is his first entire issue since then, it's still a great start. His framing story in "After These Messages" was fantastic, made me really appreciate what he brings to the series, even if it's not a strong likeness to characters.
Whedonfan, I asked Scott Allie if Marti Noxon would write for the series (as she is possibly my favourite writer from the television series), he said there are no plans as of now, but he would love to get her to write for the series, along with David Fury and Rebecca Rand Kirshner, who both have written comics before. Even though Noxon has no previous published experience of writing in this medium, I think a talented writer like herself would be able to make the transition quite easily. Jane Espenson has written about the differences in medium, and she made it sound quite simple with only slight differences in the way the writing must be done. That said, there's always Season Nine that needs writing!
Jane Espenson is off to another brilliant start here, she captures Harmony's character so well. You can just hear McNab's voice. Andy Dick was the perfect choice, although I don't think Harmony should drive or operate heavy machinery after this, she would likely have enough narcotics in her body to bring down an elephant.

dane, I agree that he's not as strong at creating perfect likenesses like Chen but I do feel Jeanty has improved tremendously at depicting Buffy's face in particular. I love the final panel of #20, while it was clearly a comic image it was also very much Buffy/SMG-esque. The nose, the lips, the eyes, the expression.
Jeanty's strength lies in the expression he gives to his characters and not just making their faces resemble the actors. It's a give and take of both.
While Chen clearly owns the skies when it comes to making her covers look as if they're photographs of the characters, I think Jeanty actually captures the emotions and expressions of the characters and brings them to life.
