Amy Acker is handling Claire beautifully.
Though I really don't get the impression she was an active. Why would they make her stay? Because they can isn't a good plot point. Confidentiality doesn't seem a necessary component either because they manipulate memory operationally.
I wonder if Claire was spared because she was "special" too, and Alpha saw that as well.

I've wondered a little bit why Claire works at the Dollhouse. We know why everybody else does, but all that's been revealed about Claire is that Alpha didn't kill her and she disagrees with the way things are done in the Dollhouse. I think the "attic" and "underground" stuff has to do with how they handle actives they can't use, but if Claire really was an active, maybe she's the one who was replaced by Sierra. Sierra's handler was kind of cryptic about what happened to his last active. Also, Fran Krantz said in an interview that there's supposed to be a mole in the Dollhouse. Two other possible stories behind Claire are that she joined the Dollhouse to help take care of people who can't help themselves, or she positioned herself in the Dollhouse in such a way that she can take it down from the inside.

I like her budding relationship with Boyd. It's not romantic, but it's definitely there. They seem to be the most humane people working for the Dollhouse and it's showing that they have a connection. Again... not a romantic connection, just a friend-type connection.

Again... not a romantic connection, just a friend-type connection. It'll probably turn romantic. Claire and Boyd seem to have more in common than any other two characters.

i mean, i've only seen her as Fred, Illyria, and now Claire Saunders... now i really see how good of an actress she is.. i vaguely remember Joss saying that Claire was whatever halfway between Fred and Illyria is.

Referring to the spoiler above: I really really hope it's either Sierra's handler or Laurence Dominic the head of security. Perhaps Topher's new assistant?? She "saw the firewall" so she must have access to the computer systems protected by said firewall, which was said to be the hardest part.

does anyone else think that:
1. Boyd is gonna kill Claire? they seemed to be kinda chummy in past episodes, but in Needs, Boyd kinda seemed bitter and angry toward her. I just got the feeling from the end of the episode that he's gonna kill her.
2. Claire's scars are incredibly inconsistant? one episode she'll be almost fine and the next, she's wayyyyy scarred.

I just got the feeling from the end of the episode that he's gonna kill her. 2. Claire's scars are incredibly inconsistant? one episode she'll be almost fine and the next, she's wayyyyy scarred. 1. Boyd wouldn't just kill Claire. Claire is only a doctor, and would never do anything that would warrant being killed, especially by someone like Boyd. He's and ex-cop, and I doubt he would ever kill someone just because he disagrees with them. Plus, Claire is probably more inline with Boyd in terms of their moral beliefs/dilemma's than anyone else in the Dollhouse, considering they both have shown the most compassion towards the Doll's in the past. All I saw in the end there was Boyd struggling with the moral issues of Claire's experiment, which was very in tune with what we has seen of Boyd in the past. 2. I don't think they are inconsistent, but the way Claire's scars look completely depend on the lighting of the scene. The Dollhouse, despite being a brightly lit place, has a surprising number of dark areas, namely Claire and Adelle's offices. She always has the same scars though, it just depends on the lighting of the scene with how you see them.

for the boyd/claire thing, i don't mean just because he disagrees with her, but i think shes gonna do something to echo and adelle orders boyd to kill her.

If Adele ordered Boyd to kill Claire, she'd have to do something very out-of-character for Boyd to actually do it.
