...Maybe I do.
After watching the pilot, I was unsure if I liked Dollhouse. And after watching the following episode my uncertainty continues. In my eyes, all of Joss' previous projects had a fantasy element in them. Vampires, demons, outer space, and super villains...that sing. The Dolls aren't very interesting to me, and I find myself not really getting invested in this as much as I thought I would! It's not Eliza...and it's not any of the other actors (even though I dislike Topher immensely). I think it's just the premise of the show itself, and the lack of Joss in this. I don't find the humor that I love, in this at all/very much. And we're only on episode two, and the:
"Did I fall asleep?"
"For a little while"
Is already tired to me. Seems like he has a Watcher/Slayer vibe going with the Handler/Active dynamic. Which is cool, but painfully obvious. I don't see where this show can go, it seems very boxed in due to it's plot. While watching, I am just not feeling the Joss golden touch that was ever present in BtVS, Angel and Firefly. Not saying I'm going to quit, because I want to be a supportive fan...
But is it just me?

I think the show is just ok. If Joss' name wasn't attached to it I wouldn't give it a second thought.
I don't have faith (no pun intended about the show's survival. I think it will probably pick up more fans after the it's over and runs in syndication on TNT or Sci Fi. It's funny, people complain about Fox's Friday death slot but this is exactly the sort of show I used to watch on Fox Friday nights when I was a kid. Anyone remember VR-5 or MANTIS? I know those shows didn't last long but they still had the same overall feel.
Here is my dream scenario. When Elisha was pitching the show to Joss she was ended the conversation with ".... and if this doesn't work out I'll finally make the Faith show for you".

I actually liked the pilot, and the following episode. It doesn't seem to have the Joss essence at the moment, but Joss himself did say it picks up more and has more influence from him from episode 4 and on wards.

It's not just you. The pilot was ok. The second episode was a LOT better because of more action, but like it's been said, I wouldn't haven given it a second or first chance if Joss wasn't attached to it. The main reason that I'm watching it and telling all my friends to watch it too is to support Joss and try to get this show up and running. I really want the show to hit it's stride, but I'm not 100% it will get to it. I sure hope so.

Thank you Phil!! I officially sponsor every single thing you said about Dollhouse. It's not that I dislike the show so far, but it's just that I don't see where it can go. That's all. I don't see it going beyond one or two seasons anyway. Unless they come up with a huge twist, but it has to be the best idea of the century, maybe the millenium. And again I have a hard time seeing how characters who forget everything at the end of every episode can grow on the viewers... Eco changes personnalities all the time.

The show has soo many places it could go! How is it possible that you don't see it going anywhere?? The amount of seemingly important characters we have already makes me interested. They all have a history and interactions w/each other and who knows what they'll all grow into. And that's the thing with Echo- People point out that it's hard to get into her character b/c she's a different person every episode. But you can't forget that she was someone else (Caroline) before she signed onto the dollhouse. She still IS Caroline (or is she...). Whether she'll ever be that same girl remains to be seen, but we know she was a 'real person' and living a 'real life' before. That's the mystery of her character. It all just needs time to develop! And her being other people is what makes the show fun!
And the list of things the writers will get to explore w/all the clientele of the dollhouse is probably very long. Imagine how many scenarios they could come up with! People using other people for whatever they please...it's a pretty intriguing idea.
and i dont care what anyone says about eliza dushku-she's a good actress. Watch the angel episode "Release" when she punches the tiles out of the wall in the shower. That is an intense scene. What more do people expect of her as an actress?

Boring. Oh I just watched the Eliza Dushku version of the Hulu commercial. Pretty cool... I liked it!

I really really tried to like it but both episodes I have found myself getting up and hitting the kitchen or playing with my phone or even falling asleep (episode 2 bored me, sorry iv already seen Eliza running through the woods getting shot at by arrows in wrong turn, and that was better then this) Im going to try one more Friday but I don't have alot of faith (Faith, you know, the show Joss and Eliza should have made!)

***SPOILERY***
I like the tone of the show. I think it has tons of potential, and there is humor, but it's not the camp we're used to. Echo's not gonna be saying Buffy-isms like "The girl makes Godot look punctual" (which I will miss I think) but I like the way things are moving so far. The possibility lies in the 'engagements' and the different people Echo and the other 'actives' can become. At the same time, Echo seems to be slowly realizing her past, and bits of her engagements are bleeding over into new engagements, which can only lead to trouble..but in a fun way. I think I will watch the show as long as it's on, and I hope that is longer than 13 episodes.

We should e-name this thread "Blasphomy". I'm a completley loving Dollhouse, Episode 1 was good it was not the best and it had a few un-needed scenes but it set up the verse nicley. Episode 2 was all out action and set up the mythology and left us with a few questions. It also answered some which I was suprised by. Alpha scared Saunders face...hmmm I can see him finishing the job one day soon seen as Amy Acker is only a recurring character. This show has a lot of potential and I am excited to see what happens next. The trailer for episode 3 looks brilliant. Sorry to say but Dollhouse had got me hooked. I love it already and want this series to do well. Also every minute Joss and Eliza are together there is a chanve they might say JOSS: So Dollhouse is doing okay ELIZA: It'll get better JOSS: Yeah of course...but what if it doesn't? ELIZA: I make Tru Calling season 3 JOSS: Yeah I loved that show, really really did ELIZA: Either that or... JOSS & ELIZA: The Faith spin off!! *high fives*

When watching Dollhouse, I reflect back on how much I didn't like Buffy when it aired. And how later it had blossomed into such an amazing show that it became one of my most favorites, like, evar. But unfortunately I didn't cotton on to that fact until the summer before S7 aired.
So, I take that into account first.
Also, though the premiere and ep 2 fell flat to me, and felt bland and sorta cheesy/generic (I can't find the words I'm actually searching for, so that'll have to do), I found that I liked episode 2 a lot more on second viewing over at Hulu. I missed a few key things and got my thoughts untangled on a few others. It was worth it to rewatch it. It hasn't made me a hardcore fan or anything like that. But it took away a lot of the apprehension I had (have?) when I saw the promo for "Stage Fright", which looked (looks? ... eh) still cheesy.
I've read reviews that say that the only people watching are most likely Joss fans, and that the only people that will be left watching in the end will be Joss fans. I don't think that's necessarily true. I won't stick around if I don't like it, but as a Joss fan I'm cutting it a little more slack than I would if it were a show by somebody else I didn't really care about.

I actually see lots of potential for the series. They have 3 plots which bind the episodic show together: Echo remembering things and developing more character in her doll which bleeds into her assignments, this Alpha character who will hopefully be popping in every once-in-a-while to make things more dramatic, and Paul Ballard whom I am seriously digging.
The show has potential to be thrilling and fresh or so repetitive it goes stale. It depends on the writing. And with Joss at the helm, I only have good vibes for this show.

The third episode had the biggest Joss vibe to it out of all of them with his witty lines and stuff like that. Do you guys like it more now?

I miss the humor most of all. And the Jossian one-liners and puns. Episode 3 gave that to us, a bit, so I am warming up to the show.
