"Faith. Her name alone invokes awe. Faith. A set of principles or beliefs on which you are willing to devote your life. The dark slayer. A lethal combination of beauty, power, and death. For years and years?or to be more accurate?months, Faith fought on the side of good, terrorizing the evil community. But like so many tragic heroes, Faith was seduced by the lure of the dark side. She wrapped evil around her like a large, evil Mexican serape. She became a cold-blooded killer. Nobody was immune to her trail of destruction. Not friends, not family... Not even the most pacifist and logical of races." This thread is for the murderous insane bitch inside all of us ;D Buttons -

A gorgeous drawing of Faith. (Again, I can't take credit for this. Just found it a few years ago online.) ***click thumbnail to enlarge***

Probably the coolest character in the Buffyverse. Sexy, badass and occasionally evil. Only in 26 Buffyverse episodes, but one of the best developed and most memorable. It also doesn't hurt that Eliza acted the hell out of the role. My favorite Faith moments have to be the club fight in Five by Five and punching the sh!t out of Wesley's shower in Release.

I really dig Faith. She's a fun, engaging character, who can go to incredibly dark places but also brings some light-heartedness to the series, her relationship with Buffy is my favourite though I adore her relationship with Angel and her complicated relationship with the Scoobies, as well as her bond with the Mayor, which was one of the best father/daughter relationships the show ever managed. What I loved about Faith is that I always loved her, wether it be I love her or love to hate her. Because she did do some really ghastly things, I mean betraying Buffy, tying her up and planning to torture her- that's nasty, that's a whole other level of sadistic cruelty, but she brings so much to the scene that you still love to watch her. I love how she represents Buffy’s dark half, I think it’s fascinating how both characters compliment one another. I also think it’s brilliant in how they did a role reversal in season eight’s ‘No Future For You’ to show how far Faith has come, whereas Buffy’s fallen. Having Faith jump in to save Gigi whom she was trying to rehabilitate, much like she once needed to be, and save Buffy from killing someone like she did, was fantastic. I felt horrible for Faith how the whole thing was one big misunderstanding and just when Buffy calmed down and was ready to talk she was teleported away, leaving Faith alone and abandoned again. And given Buffy’s morally grey decisions this season and where they seem to be wanting to take her character, it’s brilliant that you show Faith as the good slayer. “Are you the bad slayer now, am I the good slayer now?” Because as someone who always represented her “dark side” it speaks volumes that she now represents Buffy’s “light side.” I’m also a secret little fan of the Buffy/Faith slash ship, which I never actually picked up on for so long, but now can’t help but take into account when I’m watching their scenes. I think it works so much better than Angel/Spike and personally, I think it got a lot more in the series than Spangel ever did. I mean their whole relationship is built on lesbian subtext, the kisses between both of them (originally meant to be on the lips) the “give us a kiss” line, Faith drawing a love heart on the window in ‘Bad Girls’ Buffy being uncomfortable with her grunting, Wood realising Faith worries about Buffy, the Buffy/Faith sexy dancing and Faith checking out her brand spankin’ new Buffy bod in the tub during ‘This Years Girl.’ -All incredibly slashy, and intentional, as stated by the writers, in particular during the ‘Bad Girls’ DVD commentary. I just wish we'd have gotten out Faith spinoff, if only Eliza picked that instead of 'Tru Calling.' Oh well.

I'd like to think maybe we'll get that Faith spinoff someday... Stranger things have happened....
Best wishes,
Scott

Faith rocks. She is always so strong and beautiful and not afraid to speak her mind, which are very good qualities for a slayer to have in my opinion.

Ahhh, my girl. No Future For You has been hands-down the best arc of Season Eight so far. I hope we'll have at least one Giles/Faith-centric issue before their complete return. In fact, in my take on Season Eight way back in 2003, Giles and Faith did start working together in England. Celarly, it's something I've wanted to see for a long time. It would've been perfect for either the Ripper series or the Faith spinoff.
Faith's been one of the characters I've most identified with for years. We're seemingly worlds apart, but there's so much I've come to understand about her and that I've seen in myself. It's rather awesome actually. Whedon should definitely think about giving Faith her own comic series.

Couldn't agree more. Faith definitely deserves her own comic series and I'd love to see more of the Faith/Giles partnership.
Best wishes,
Scott

I would too. It seems like Faith and Giles have almost a more respectful relatonship than Buffy and Giles ever did. It seems to me like Faith/Giles is almost more of what the Slayer/Watcher relationship was meant to be because of the mutaul respect and input from both of charectors.

I have been a huge Eliza fan for years. I actually got into Buffy because of her. I love her character arc. They are doing a lot with her character in season 8. I love her and Gilles working together

I'm not happy with Buffy accusing Faith of wanting to kill her ... again!! However, to say that Giles never trust her more than her it’s mean!!! Mean!!! And leaves me with two things, first that the two of them, trusted her enough to leave her in charge, apparently with Wood, of a slayers squad, who had that idea? And she obviously let her to lead the potential, back in season 7, of course I still thing Faith would have run after Buffy when she was kick out of La Casa Summers Clearly Faith’s away from the mission, but apparently still in contact... and why she doesn’t have access to the resources of the slayers! Did you see her house?! very Spartan indeed!! Mean!!! Just mean!!! The relationship between Buffy and Faith It’s interesting on many levels, specially cute in the third season, with the grunts and dates I don’t understand why they move away from each other… apart from the whole went bad and started killing people… I mean, they had a connection! Because they were, back then, the only two slayers… and now, with hundreds out there… Both feel alone… always alone… So… when are they going to realize that!!! They belong together!!... Not romantically… god no… I don’t see the as a couple… It’s weird! I’m also sure Buffy hurt Faith so much more and in many ways… but I’m also think Faith’s the greatest thing in the show… well she’s really cool and I just love everything she does… she so cool and funny… so, maybe that’s me not being partial I would love to see whatever happens between these two in the 8th season… To see their relationship evolve, maybe grow, maybe not… they have to reconnect, they’re the most powerful slayers!!! And they don’t have a connection with nobody else… Also curious about Faith hearing about Buffy and Satsu… hehehe, I sure she wont be surprised at all… maybe jealous… but it would be interesting

I wasn't that keen on Faith in S3 Buffy, but after she woke up from her coma I liked her.
Her appearances on Angel are my favourite. And when she comes back to Sunnydale.

I actually like Faith better than Buffy. Don't get me wrong, I still love Buffy, but it really grates on my nerves whenever Buffy gets on her high horse -- soooo annoying. When you understand her background, it's not hard to understand why Faith got lured into the dark side. She just needs someone to love and believe in her. I love Angel and Giles for seeing past Faith's bad ass, sexy exterior and finding someone who wants to be good and seeks redemption for her past evil-doings.
Oh, Faith. Now I feel like watching Season 4: Who Are You?

My god, you're so right!
I do love Buffy too... it's just, I can't bear her double moral standars towards Faith!
There's an inside joke about everyone being evil at one point and still, the one who doesn't get the forgiveness... come on!
And not just Giles and Angel, even Wes knew it... I think, Willow, at some point, still...
It's kinda sad that she's alone... and with nothing... so unfair...
