I'm a fan. I think he might be the only main character from Angel that I actually like and admire, without a small amount of loathing.

I love Wesley as well. I think you should downsize that photo a bit though, it really stretches the page out.

I adore him. Maybe so much, it even gets scary ... But he seems to have so much similarities to my character, it's amazing. I have to admit, I disliked him enourmously when I first watched the Third Season of Buffy, but ever since Fred became a part of Team Angel, I simply love him.
His relentless fight to save the world and the people he loves, his eternal love for Fred, but even his dark side, everything made sense and worked out comprehenseble.
I also think we should start collecting quotes from him. He said some things that really touched me.
Winifred 'Fred' Burkle: Would you have loved me? Wesley Wyndam-Pryce: I've loved you since I've known you. No, that's not-I think maybe even before.
Loa: You risk your life, human, calling on the Loa. Perhaps what you really seek is death. The pain in your heart begs for it. Wes: Then do it and be done. Nothing else will stop me. Loa: Simple mortal, your pain is just beginning. Betrayal and agony lie in wait, and time---is running out, yet still you ignore the question.
Gunn: What happened to you, man? Wes: I had my throat cut and all my friends abandoned me.

How about some Wesley questions?
Do you think Wesley was right not to tell Angel about the "Father will kill the son" prophecy he found in Season 3?
What are some of your favorite Wesley quotes?
Wesley was amazingly funny at times. Any moments/scenes that makes you bust out laughing?
Wesley started off as an annoying, naive Watcher on Buffy who later became a tragic hero on Angel. When do you think this transformation occurred? When did Wesley become a hero?

Yay! So in, Wesleys cool. Do you think Wesley was right not to tell Angel about the "Father will kill the son" prophecy he found in Season 3?NO! He's so STUPID for not, that one really annoys me, it totally recked Wesley and Angel's relationship. If I lived in the Angelverse I'd slap him upside the head! What are some of your favorite Wesley quotes?"We were hoping you'd enlighten us, spawn of evil!" Hahaha! Love it. Wesley was amazingly funny at times. Any moments/scenes that makes you bust out laughing?Welsey dancing at Cordy's party Funny as! Wesley started off as an annoying, naive Watcher on Buffy who later became a tragic hero on Angel. When do you think this transformation occurred? When did Wesley become a hero?I think when he got his throat cut and was *THIS* close to being a dead heap of rubble in the park next to his apartment, he opened his eyes and realised what was really happeneing.

Great idea! Here my thoughts:
Do you think Wesley was right not to tell Angel about the "Father will kill the son" prophecy he found in Season 3?
Yes, I do. When you have a prophecy at hand, when you struggle with destiny, would you risc anything to let it be fulfilled? I can project Wes' thoughts pretty well. He was scared he would trigger the prophecy somehow if anyone of the Gang was involved - so he decided to burden only himself with this and go the only secure way.
What are some of your favorite Wesley quotes?
My favourite one, from 5x16 Shells, is one of the best quotes I've ever heard:
"I've been unreasonable, because I've lost all reason."
So much pain, resignation and despair in just one little sentence.
Wesley was amazingly funny at times. Any moments/scenes that makes you bust out laughing?
I think it is the first Season, can't exactly recall the episode, in which Angel and Wes dance at a party of Cordelia's - hilarious!
Wesley started off as an annoying, naive Watcher on Buffy who later became a tragic hero on Angel. When do you think this transformation occurred? When did Wesley become a hero?
I think he was a hero all the way. Looking back, he was driven by his wish to save the world and do effective good from the very beginning on Buffy. He became a watcher, and such an fussy one, because he believed in the things, the Council embodied and therefore did anything to be as good as possible.
This is also shown in the second Season, where he explains to Gunn, as they plan to attack the fortress, that there are always choices and sacrifices to make, that being good has a price.

Do you think Wesley was right not to tell Angel about the "Father will kill the son" prophecy he found in Season 3?I understand why Wesley didn't tell Angel, but finding out the prophecy was false, I wish he had so all the drama could of been avoided. (Please don't though because everything would be boring What are some of your favorite Wesley quotes?--------------------------------------------------------- W&H Employee: "I mean, the whole company can't be working on Miss Burkle's case." Wesley takes out a gun and calmy shoots him in the legWesley: "Jennifer, please send anyone else who isn't working on Miss Burkle's case to me." --------------------------------------------------------- Wesley was amazingly funny at times. Any moments/scenes that makes you bust out laughing?KARATE!!! Also everything drunk Wes and Fred in Life of the Party. Wesley started off as an annoying, naive Watcher on Buffy who later became a tragic hero on Angel. When do you think this transformation occurred? When did Wesley become a hero?I agree with xanderharris, he was a hero the entire time. In Buffy Season 3, even though I agreed with Buffy in Choices and Graduation Day Pt. 1, Wesley was right. He was all about the greater good, no matter how wimpy and annoying he was. When he joined Angel Investigations he was shaky with Angel and I sort of got the feeling that he just wanted to fit in instead of really help out. It wasn't until Eternity when he took out Angelus that I thought he became a TRUE hero and really wanted to help out Angel, as seen in Sanctuary when he betrayed the Council.

Great questions Emmie!
Do you think Wesley was right not to tell Angel about the "Father will kill the son" prophecy he found in Season 3? - This is a hard question to answer, because I think that Wesley knew Angel would not be in a very good state of mind to discuss this rationally (Angel being the father and all...). Plus with all of the evidence that was thrown at Wesley, and Angel's odd behavior (on account of Wolfram and Hart feeding Angel Connor's blood), I think that Wesley did the only thing he thought he could. He could have approached Gunn and Fred about it though, but I think Wesley was only thinking about Connor's safety and wanted to get the baby away from Angel as soon as possible, in order to prevent anything bad from happening.
What are some of your favorite Wesley quotes? - Too many to list here, but here are some of my favorites:.
Season 2: "Epiphany" Wesley: But you don't. You don't know her at all. For months now, you haven't cared to. Otherwise, you might have realized that our Cordelia has become a very solitary girl. She's not the vain carefree creature she once was. Well... , certainly not carefree. It's the visions, you see. The visions that were meant to guide you. You could turn away from them. She doesn't have that luxury. She knows and experiences the pain in this city. And because of who she is, she feels compelled to do something about it. It's left her little time for anything else. You'd have known that, if you hadn't had your head firmly up your... place that isn't on top of your neck.
Season 4: "Spin the Bottle" Wesley: I had my throat cut and all of my friends abandon me.
Wesley: Perhaps the whole point of this experiment is hair!
Wesley: We were hoping you'd enlighten us, spawn of evil.
Season 5: "Shells" Wesley: Wesley: She was shaking with pain and terrified and so brave. She was better than anyone I've known. Better than... She's gone.
Season 5: "Not Fade Away" Wesley: The first lesson a watcher learns is to separate truth from illusion. Because in the world of magics, it's the hardest thing to do.
Wesley was amazingly funny at times. Any moments/scenes that makes you bust out laughing? - When he gets taken out so quickly in "Graduation Day Pt. 2." - His first meeting with Angel in L.A. - Dancing at Cordy's apartment - Any time he trips/falls/stumbles. - Pretty much every scene in Acts 2 and 3 of "Spin the Bottle."
Wesley started off as an annoying, naive Watcher on Buffy who later became a tragic hero on Angel. When do you think this transformation occurred? When did Wesley become a hero? - Wesley always had very strong ideals and was raised to believe in "the mission." While he lacked essential interpersonal skills that every Watcher needs, Wesley was always looking towards the greater good and was established as a brilliant strategist pretty early on. Wesley's first dynamic shift happens near the end of Season 3, when he severely screws up Faith's rehabilitation and betrays the Scoobies trust. As a result of this, he is eventually fired from the council which sets him on his path for redemption. I agree with Ethan, that Wesley first showcased his heroism when he effectively took out Angel in "Eternity." If he hadn't, a lot of people could have been killed before Angel snapped out of the effects of the tranquilizer.

Wesley had the best character development in either of the shows...heck any just about any show I can think of. We need more Wesley smileys Do you think Wesley was right not to tell Angel about the "Father will kill the son" prophecy he found in Season 3? Yeah that has bothered me. I understand that they wanted to take Wesley down a darker path, but did he honestly think Angel wouldn't track him down even if he got away with Conner? What are some of your favorite Wesley quotes? Angel: I'm just waitin' for Wes to have that "Eureka" moment. Wesley: Eureka! Angel: Oh, jeez. Thank God. Lorne: You mean he actually really says "Eureka"? Wesley: I'm a rogue demon hunter now. Cordelia: Wow. What's a rogue demon? Gunn: What happened to you, man? Wesley: I had my throat cut and all my friends abandoned me. WESLEY: (overly dramatic) All right. I'm going to let you all in on something you may have trouble comprehending. I assure you that however— GUNN: Vampires are real. WESLEY: I was telling! Wesley was amazingly funny at times. Any moments/scenes that makes you bust out laughing? Spin the bottle is my favorite, but I also love when Buffy hears his thoughts about Cordy in Earshot. Wesley started off as an annoying, naive Watcher on Buffy who later became a tragic hero on Angel. When do you think this transformation occurred? When did Wesley become a hero? I would say it truly began when Faith tortured him.

To keep the discussion running - do you think Wesley wanted to die? In Season 3, while talking to the Loa, it says that Wesleys heart begs to die - the Loa was right about betrayel and agony for Wesley, the prophecy and so on. So why would this statement not be true? Considering Wes' isolation from the group and the relationship between Gunn and Fred, this seems rather understandable.
But in 5x22 Not Fade Away, when everything he ever fought for was destroyed, he states to Illyria that he doesn't intend to die. Considering the death of Fred, it's hard to understand (at least to me) but he appeared to be very sincere when he said this. What do you think are Wesleys true feelings about his life? He doesn't cling to life too much, but what (especially in Not Fade Away) are the things that keep him? The possibility of Freds return? His friends?
I love the complex, yet kind of simple, structure of Wesleys beliefs and wishes and in my opinion he achieved his redemption as he died in "Fred"s arms.

I love Wesley! He's so funny; I just love it in "Parting Gifts" when he's trying to pull the knife out of his shoe or whatever and he falls over! But overall, he was simply an amazing, complex character.
