Count me in, I love Cordy both in Btvs and Ats.
I'll post some questions and answer them at the same time;
1) What's your favourite season out of Btvs and Ats for Cordy and why?Probably season two of Ats. I think it was the perfect blend of the old Cordy mixed in with the new Cordy. She was growing as a person thanks to the visions but she still had the bitca in her which made her so much fun in the first place.
2) What's your favourite episode for Cordy and why? It's a bitter sweet one, but I'll have to say
'You're Welcome.' I think it showed why Cordy was so important to Ats, and in my opinion how much it lacked without her. She was just fantastic throughout the entire episode, she was snarky and sweet, she was kickass, she had nice moments with Wes and Angel and she went out setting Angel back on his path, I loved her in that episode even if the ending was so sad
3) What's your three favourite Cordy lines?1)
"Oh and you're welcome." It pretty much defines everything about her character in Ats. How much she'd helped and done for all of them, especially Angel. And it felt as if she speaking through the character to the audience, because I feel we owe her so much. Plus, Charisma's delivery of that line was just.. gahh I get teary like a manly man just thinking about it, one of the best lines and best deliveries of a line in either show in my opinion. One of my favourite lines of the verse actually.
2)
Cordelia: (stops Buffy) Hey! You think I'm never lonely because I'm so cute and popular? I can be surrounded by people and be completely alone. It's not like any of them really know me. I don't even know if they like me half the time. People just want to be in a popular zone. Sometimes when I talk, everyone's so busy agreeing with me, they don't hear a word I say.
Buffy: Well, if you feel so alone, then why do you work so hard at being popular?
Cordelia: Well, it beats being alone all by yourself. It turned Cordy from being your typical 2Dimensional high school bitca into a 3Dimensional character with layers and a suddenly very sympathetic streak. I think it really helped her character and it set the groundwork out for the message they try to get across in
'Earshot' "everyone down there is ignoring your pain because they're too busy dealing with their own. The popular ones, the guys who pick on you..."
3)
"I'm not some snively whiny little cry Buffy, I'm the meanest girl in Sunnydale history!" and I'm kinda cheating here but it's from the same moment..
"and lady, the bitch is back." Bitca Cordy! Gotta love it, she's great in that scene and I love how she references Buffy!
4) What's your favourite Cordy romance? (Xander/Cordy, Angel/Cordy, Doyle/Cordy ect)I liked Xander/Cordy the best, there was some really nice moments between them. I really liked how she came back to sit with Xander in
'Killed By Death' and brought him donuts, there was no conversation just a silent understanding and reconciliation between the two of them. I also enjoyed
'The Prom' when Xander buys her the prom dress.. it very sweet and the brief moment between the both of them is so endearing.
I never really got into Cordy/Doyle because it never really took flight and I really didn't enjoy Angel/Cordy for a while but they've grown on me in
'After the Fall' and
'You're Welcome' so I don't dislike that ship as much anymore.
5) Do you like snarky Cordy or Saint Cordy?I like a combination of both best. As I mentioned above, I think 'You're Welcome' blended the both of them together perfectly. I think she was written too saintly towards the end of s3, the change in how she spoke grated on me, I didn't like how she kept calling Connor "baby" or "sweetie" it just felt so unnatural for me. I liked it when she could be snarky but loveable at the same time, it's when Cordy's most endearing.
Though honestly, if I had to choose, probably an unpopular opinion but I'd pick snarky, Cordy does the best snark in the verse hands down, she was so much fun in High school.
6) Did you like Cordy best on Btvs or Ats?Ats because she has more growth and more screen time devoted to her. But I *love* her on Btvs. I think she's fantastic and love all her moments. I especially liked when she'd bond with Buffy who she was jealous of, yet respected more than the others. I also dug her interaction with Willow, there's that great scene in
'Phases' when she's complaining to someone off character about how Xander's always talking about "Buffy this and Willow that" and it reveals it to be Willow who's sympathetically sitting there listening to her rant, it's priceless. Cordy/Giles was always a lot of fun as well, lots of snarks.. "one day you're going to wake up in a coma" "wake up in a coma? Oh never mind.." ;D
7) Did you ever dislike Cordy?Nope. Although admittedly it's hard to like her a lot in
'Choices' when she tells Buffy "Sorry Buffy this conversations reserved for those of us who actually have a future"- I mean that nearly crossed the line, and in
'Out of Mind, Out of Sight' when Buffy knocks into Cordy/Harmony/Mitch and they just step over her, and Buffy has to sadly listen to them calling her a "freak" and a "loony." It's very sad for Buffy. But thankfully in both of those episodes she's redeemed enough so that I can endure the meanness. In
'Choices' we have that really sad moment where at the end we learn Cordy is working at the dress shop and sadly puts the dress away. I know, I know it's a case of "oh poor spoilt rich girl you can't buy dresses anymore!" but I still feel really sad for her because she's broken, it's not just the materialistic, she can't even go to college, I feel terrible for her in that scene and she seemed extra lonely after being distant from the gang because of the Xander/Willow affair.
8) What are your top three saddest Cordy moments?1) Her death scene in
'You're Welcome' for obvious reasons, it's truly heart breaking and beautiful at the same time. Hands down one of the best scenes in the verse.
2) When she's crying in her hospital bed in
'Lovers Walk' after finding out about Xander/Willow. I feel terrible for her in that scene.
3) And as I mentioned above-
'Choices' when she's alone in the shop and is forced to put the dress back and you realise in that moment that, that's what she's hiding, she's lost everything and unlike the other kids can't be excited for a new future with College because she can't afford one, poor Cordy
