Honestly, not a real Spike fan...or at least the Buffy Stalker Spike. Evil Spike was better. Anyway, Happy Spike Appreciation Month! *votes next month to be Tara Appreciation Month*

Spike is a classic case of a character who was meant to be minor but by sheer charisma and stregth of character wound up becoming a major character-which he defiinitely deserved to be. I love him ! Best wishes, Scott

I can't mention Spike without paying homage to James Marster's portrayal of him. As buffyversefrever said "Spike is a classic case of a character who was meant to be minor but by sheer charisma and stregth of character wound up becoming a major character-which he defiinitely deserved to be." What drew me to him....a number of things: 1. My version of a fantasy man has never veered toward the muscley buff type - lean does it for me. Strength for sure but packaged in a wonderful physique. 2. His eyes - that speak volumes and can change in a micro-second from hard and angry to soft and lustful. Send shivers up my spine. 3. Spike's sense of humour - yes, he is evil but he has a sense of fun - not all doom and gloom. 4. The depth of his passion - there is no mistaking what he feels about someone - it is fully alive whether it is revenge, love, passion or hate. His range of feelings is wide - being one of the undead is the only dead part of him. 5. He piqued my interest the moment I saw him onscreen and he never dissapointed me. 6. I love how he plays with Angel - pushing his buttons and playing devil's advocate. 7. His song in OMWF - the way he said/sang what he sang and how he looked as he did. 8. How he treats/protects Dawn. 9. His pet names for Dawn - niblet especially 10. His respect for Joyce. 11. His respect for Fred and admiration for her braininess. 12. Hi "hell of a woman" speech to Buffy. in a nutshell... when I think of Spike, think of how the three furies speak of Angel... ....hmmmm....Spike.....

I knew there was something funny when "Black History Month" was crossed out on my calendar and replaced with a little image of James Marsters head.

I knew there was something funny when "Black History Month" was crossed out on my calendar and replaced with a little image of James Marsters head. Hmm I never thought of that. Then should we just cancel this whole thing in favor of "Robin Wood Appreciation Month"? Haha. Everyone, list a favorite Spike momentI have a few, but other than the big moments...I always love his scenes with Joyce. They had such chemistry, in a non-romantic sense.

I think my favorite Spike moment has to be his hell of a woman speech to Buffy. It's tearjerking and beautiful and totally on the spot(at least for his character) and one of the most beautiful things ever said. In Angel, I love so many of the scenes with Angel when they are bickering. The Astronauts vs. Cavemen argument and when Spike kicks Angel's ass in the end of Season 5 for the Eternal Cup of Torment. It's so fun to watch! Spike's my favorite character, besides Buffy. I love how he does exactly what he wants and loves doing it. He's so passionate about what he loves and doesn't care if it makes him look weak, weird, or anything else. He knows what he wants and does whatever he needs to in order to get it. Plus you can't argue with the hair and long leather jacket ;] These are my favorite Spike pics, avvies, and backgrounds!

In my opinion, Spike is one of the most dynamic and evolved television characters of all time! He's definitely my favorite Buffyverse character, and Spuffy is my favorite 'ship of all time!
As for my favorite moment, I think I would have to pick "The Gift", at the end when he sees Buffy's body and falls to his knees crying. I think it really showcases how much his character has changed.

I think that Spike was one of the most developed characters on the show and one of the best. Spike from the beginning was badass. Season 2: When Spike first showed up on the show, he was a badass. With his platinum blonde hair and black jacket, he was something to be admired and to be feared. He had a swagger about him that made me love the character and its because of this that I am glad Joss didnt decide to off him in the second season like he had planned. And I also think that we actually started to see his character progression in this season as well, when he finally decides to buckle down and help Buffy stop Angelus. I actually was able to forsee him becoming a hero ever since then. Season 3: Even in his brief appearence in Season 3, he was awesome. However, the only thing I really got out of him in this way how crazed and obsessive he could be when it came to someone he loved. Other than that, i really dont feel that there was much character progression for him. Season 4/Season 1: This is what really changed everything wasnt it? In his initial appearence in this season, he was at his prime. Badass. He really felt diabolical and like the villain again, however I also knew that something was going to change this. Buffy could have easily just up and dusted him, instead he kept getting away. I really do believe that him getting the chip was what set him on the right path to good because in my own opinion, he probably wouldnt have had the chance to strive to becoming the man that Buffy wanted had he not gotten the chip in the first place. So in that theory, the Initiative did do something right. What I really liked about him this season so was that they took this huge bad guy who Buffy time and time again thwarted and basically turned him into a helpless kitten. And the fact that he really began to turn to the gang also was a little bit of forshadowing that at one point, he would be a part of it. This season also showed the really humorous side of Spike. My favorite moment with him was in the episode Pangs. I really thought that those were some of his funniest moments. Towards the end of the season when he began to help Adam, it really began to become clear that he was never going to win. He wasnt going to be able to stop Buffy no matter what he did and in some odd sort of way, he needed her. Again, forshadowing of the future Spuffy. Season 5: WAM! Spike is in love with Buffy! I think that this was one of the best plot twists that Joss and Co. ever pulled on us! It was so unexpected yet at the same time, people who really watched were able to see that Spikes past actions all led to this moment. I thought that this Season was even more cruel to Spike than Season 4 was, with the way that he was so lost with himself and had no idea what to do with Buffy. He loved her and wanted to be with her, but she didnt want him so he wanted Buffy, the source of all his problems to go away. Towards the end of the season, Spike didnt feel like a bad guy to me anymore. He definately started showing more traits of being a good man than being a bad vampire. Its in this season that we see Buffy actually begin to treat him differently, "like a man" as Spike states. Season 6: Season 6 probably gave Spike the most progression to his character that he ever had. It showed us what we all failed to see: how dark he really was. He loved everything that Buffy was and he wanted to pull her away from that just so she could be with him. When I think of Spike in this season, I basically see "crazy, jealous ex boyfriend". He was such a piece of S**t this season, well towards the end anyway. In the beginning, I thought it was very emotional and deep to see just how much he cared for Buffy even when she wasnt around. He protexted the world and Dawn even when Buffy was out of the picture. It was huge for him. One of the hardest things Ive had to deal with when it came to Spike was looking at him after he tried to rape Buffy. He was CRAZED when it came to her and was willing to do whatever it took to get her back. And although at the end, he claims he went to get the chip out of his head, it was nice to see that he was doing what it took to make himself the man that she always wanted him to be. Season 7: Ahh, I could talk all night about him this season. He wasnt Spike the bad vampire anymore. This is where his life led him, to being one of the gang, an integral part of the group. This was his defining season. And I think that it was also hard on him to be that close to Buffy and to know that she still didnt love him like he wanted her to. But that wasnt going to stop him from showing her how much he cared. He died for her. Season 5: Spike was a badass good guy! What a combination right!? I felt that it was right of him to want to continue to do good and try to help things even without buffy around. sunnydale was the warmup for him. I also felt that it took alot to fight along side of Angel when he absolutely hated him. Season 6 SO FAR: Basically, I dont see much progression from Spike this season anymore than I did in Season 5 of Angel. Because to me, this seems like he is doing what he does best. Being the good guy. I think that everything he went through led him to this point which he always wanted to be at and now he can just continue to move forward.

Oh, Spike, let me count the ways I adore thee. 1) His face. Oh yes, those cheekbones are to die for! 2) His love for Buffy. I do love me some Spuffy! I thought they were pretty good together. 3) His voice. OHMYGOD, take me now! 4) His funny dialogue! "Out. For. A. Walk... BITCH!" (That's one of my favorite quotes on the show as well!)
And as for favorite moment... Spike's "The Spark" speech at the end of "Beneath You". Yegads, that speech was amazing! ;D

I always liked his scenes with Dawn aswell, especially when they break into the magic box, and bicker over who's the baddest That's one of my biggest gripes about Season 8! Maybe Buffy, in her current leadership role/general...might never mention Spike. But Dawn and Spike also had a good relationship. I don't get why he isn't even mentioned!

I must say I am not a big Spike fan after season 2... but I am starting to like him again since A:ATF. and I love Spike and Dru together.
