Here's a video I made early last year. I didn't have very many clips to work with, but I think I did alright, if you guys wanna check it out. Also, the manips in the clips weren't done by me, just so you all know

Pardon the double-postage, but I just had to showoff this beautiful banner that xaphania made for me.

So I had this idea kicking around in my head from noticing some similarities between Buffy and Spike. First, many other Spuffy fans have noticed the two red marks on both their cheeks in School Hard. I've even seen icons to this effect. I also noticed the bigger bloody gashes on Buffy's cheek from Showtime as she's killing the Turokhan and on Spike's cheek in the final scene in the alley in Not Fade Away. And finally, the memorable scene of Spike holding Buffy's hands post-resurrection in Afterlife is mirrored in the scene from Spiral when Spike cuts his hands protecting Buffy from the sword being stabbed through the RV.

The text is actually my own creation from a song that I'm writing. It just felt right.

I absolutely love this because it has meaning and symmetry and is made of AWESOME. And xaphania did an amazing job by choosing to go with the black and white while retaining the red. Wonderful artistry - thank you, love!

Same here.

Not as much for pre-soul Spuffy, but afterwards, yeah, I'm warming up to the idea.

I think they should have dated a couple of time to see where it went.

Which is a huge improvemnt, considering that I used to want to cry when I thought about their season six "relationship".

Will you keep 'shipping Spike/Buffy if it's made clear in the text that it's still one-sided?

I would find that very strange that it would still be one-sided. I do believe Joss could end Spike/Buffy if he really wanted to, obviously he does not so that has to count for something.

I have no problem letting go of Spuffy if the creator doesn't want them to be together. That can happen to any ship. For Spike i would still want to see the character eventually move on and letting go, he deserves it.

Buffy i would be a lot more negative about cause i just can't believe that she was acting fake feelings towards Spike. There are so many direct and indirect scenes where you can feel the love she has for him. Not forgetting her own words "Why does everybody still think that i'm in love with Spike." "He's in my heart." "I love you."

Also now in season8, Buffy is acting really strange towards Spike or his memory. I don't think that she knows that Spike is alive. She told Satsu that the people that love her always leave, including Spike in this list. While the others on her list are legit, Angel,Riley,Giles,her dad, they all left.
Spike however died saving the world.
Which i also think explains why Buffy is turned more towards Angel in her dream. In her unconsciece mind there is still a chance for Buffy/Angel in the future, if ever like she said in Chosen. She still think however that Spike is dead so therefore can never be with him.

I do know one thing which is that if we ever get an issue with a Spuffy reunion + Jo Chen cover and the whole issue is dedicated to just that, it will sell a gazilion copies.

Do you think Angel and Spike will show up in different Season 8 issues, or in the same one?

I'm hoping they will appear at different times. Spike and Buffy deserve their own scenes and not have Angel always included.

I would only want them to appear together if it was to close another ship, so if Buffy chose Spike or Angel.

I hope that Spike appears around the end of season8 and is brought back over to the scoobies,Buffy for season 9. I know it's unlikely, but one can always hope. The true souled vampire is immensly missed from my season8 comics.

Are there any other Whedonverse 'ships that remind you of Spike/Buffy?

Totally agree. I love them in s7, but... not so much in s6

I think their dialogue in "Touched", it was just - overwhelming.

"There is only one thing I've ever been sure of. You."

I do love that speech in Touched. And it all hinged on James Marsters' incredible delivery to me. It's been pointed out that Riley says some similar lines in As You Were, in particular the "hell of a woman" line, but to me Marsters completely owns the speech where as Blucas just doesn't sell it.

Awww thanks for sharing Emmie. I really enjoyed these two videos. Makes me want to become a Spuffy fan too!!

While I was watching I was thinking to myself that it is actually incredible that Spike managed to develop feelings for Buffy while he was soul-less whereas Angel never was in love with Buffy after he lost his soul and all he wanted was to hurt her.

So what does that say? That Spike's love for Buffy was way more real than Angel's regardless of the having-not having a soul issue? Angel was only able to love Buffy when he had a soul, it didn't go beyond that. Spike always loved Buffy, even when he was bad.

When you put it that way, it makes sense, I suppose. In a way, Spike/Buffy had a better relationship than Angel/Buffy. Well, it was a hell of a lot more interesting anyway. I really like their relationship in season 7, as well as s5. S6 Spuffy was...okay, but picked up in s7
