Never really liked the idea of this couple, but I DO like the whole idea of Cordy not being able to stay with Angel. It's sad, but so deep, that I love the story... Im weird. xD

I've been watching their romance develop for the first time on the dvds and I really like it. I wish that they could've been together. She really developed into an admirable and honorable person and Angel was able to see that in her and be happy because of it. Then it ties Angel to a person so Spuffy can prevail! he he. All seriousness though, they seemed to fit very well together. I liked how Cordy could always call Angel out on anything and be totally direct to him.

Agreed. I think at this point I prefer Angel/Cordy over Angel/Buffy, as I am more of a Buffy/Xander guy nowadays anyway. So long live Cangel! |

I'm alright with Cordelia and Angel getting together, I just don't like how it happened. There was really no development with it. Friends, friends, friends and then WHOOSH... in the span of 10 minutes of one episode (Offspring), we find out Angel randomly loves Cordelia. What happens next? It's ignored for about six episodes until Waiting in the Wings, and then Groo, and then leaving and blah blah blah and then she was ruined in Season 4. At least they were redeemed in You're Welcome and After the Fall.
Do I think Cordelia and Angel could have been great together? Yes. Do I think the writers handled it badly? Yes.

I don't think the writers handled it badly at all. It was very much a love that they both wanted, and the fact that the writers were able to believably keep these two people who CLEARLY love each other apart even though they see each other every day... so good. It made their climatic drive to their meeting-that-never-was in "Tomorrow" so fantastic.
Buuuuut do I perfer Angel/Cordy to Angel/Buffy? Nah. It's a tie for me. If Spike and Buffy got together for keeps, I'd be more than happy if Angel/Cordy were an item. If Angel/Buffy got together, I wouldn't complain either. Still can't see Buffy/Xander, nor could I in any point in the series after Season One, but I think it's time for Buffy to be with a NEW character. Same for Angel, and Spike... maybe Beck. Hell, she was Buffy's age when Angel spit that game.

I'm not big on Angel/Cordelia, although I think, if the writers had played more to its strengths, it had the potential to be as much of a sensation as Angel/Buffy and Spike/Buffy. That said, I don't think anyone can deny that it gave us some of the best scenes and episodes in the history of the Buffyverse: the whole of You're Welcome; the love scene in Waiting in the Wings; the kiss in Birthday; Angel's visions in Deep Down; one of the most touching issues of Angel: After the Fall; and the list goes on. |

I have always love them together. I love Angel/Cordy as much as Xander/Anya and Fred/Wes... I would love for them to some how be together. I they are the best together in YW and A:ATF and they are both immortal so even in 100 years you never know.
