B-A-A: What has been the most unforgettable experience for you so far in your time of being an author?
CG: It's almost impossible to choose just one thing. The first time I ever saw a book of mine on the shelf in a bookstore, that's still one of the finest moments ever. I still get a thrill when I go into a store and see something I wrote. Beyond that, I'm deeply affected by the passion of readers, particularly young readers who have told me that they've been inspired by something I've written, either in career choice, or to become more enthusiastic readers.
B-A-A: Have you always wanted to be an author? Even when you were a kid?
CG: I always wrote, particularly in high school. But at that point I wanted to be a filmmaker. It wasn't until I was in college and still writing that I realized that writing novels was really what I wanted to do with my life.
B-A-A: What is the book you believe to be the best book you have written? Why?
CG: STRANGEWOOD is my favorite of my novels. I can't say if it's the best, but it's my favorite. I always say it's the book with which I grew up, became a more mature writer. I think it works on every level, creative and emotional and as a statement about what we all mean to each other and about the nature of imagination, and I'm very proud of that.
B-A-A: What would you like potential fans to know about you or your books?
CG: I mean every word.
B-A-A: What were you thinking when you were writing Immortal (great book!)?
CG: That we better get it done on time! We had a tight deadline on that one. Also, though, that it was great to be writing what was officially the first *truly* adult Buffy novel. Unfortunately, it was still racked in most stores with the YA, which was disturbing to me because of the very mature content.

CG: Amber's a wonderful friend and an extraordinarily talented woman in every one of her creative endeavors. It's a pleasure to work with her.
