One Last Goodbye I didn't even get to say goodbye . . .
After her mother died, Buffy Summer's life completely fell apart. This is a short poem I wrote about two years ago from Buffy's point of view after the funeral in S5's "Forever."
Sorrow, sadness, solace and stress,
like a fast moving truck these emotions hit.
I stare at her grave, not able to guess,
why now, why in the big picture her disease got to fit.
The wind whistles through the trees and howls in my ear.
The way it used to, when I was just a little girl,
when she was here.
But my mother's dead now, and my life is in a whirl.
She's not coming back, not in the spring, summer, winter, or fall.
Never, ever, not even to say hi.
It's not fair, not fair at all.
I didn't even get to say goodbye . . .
