[glow=blue,2,300]HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY[/glow] 10 years ago, we were all privileged to witness the first episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer....Little did we know that 10 years later we would still be watching episodes, collecting figures, and anticipating an 8th season in comic book form! A failed movie, a resurrection in the form of a hit TV series, and one spin off later, Buffy truly is the little character that could! I myself would like to thank the Joss for 7 amazing years of television! Everyone join me in yelling one big THANKS to Joss!!! From start to finish......amazing all the way through! How about we all type up our memory of the first time we watched Buffy and a little bit about how Buffy has impacted out lives.

I watched the first episode of Buffy when it originally aired. I remember seeing the movie in 1992 when I was all of 8 years old....and I loved it. I know, it's cheesy and kinda dumb but it was still cool as hell to my little kid brain. I used to use my April O'Neal action figure and pretend she was Buffy. The villain from the animated Swamp thing was always Lothos So, a few weeks before the first episode aired, I saw an add for it on TV. I got so excited about it that I stuck post it note reminders all over the house so I wouldn't forget to watch it! I watched it with one ff my friends from school. I guess I would have been in 4th grade at the time. Before it was over I knew I was hooked. My friend that I watched it with didn't really care for it though. Our friendship was never the same So here I am 10 years later, still obsessing about Buffy (and now Angel). I can honestly say that Buffy changed my life in numerous ways. Buffy taught me the importance of being reliable and caring for my friends. Willow taught me that it was OK to be who I was, first as the shy nerdy girl and then as the self assured lesbian. These are just a few ways that Buffy has impacted my life!

Oh my its been 10 years, I was only 14 when the show started. I was a big fan of the movie version and when I saw a new tv show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer I knew it had to be based on the movie. I was hooked from the first episode up until about half way through season 4. About a year ago I just got back into it and but the rest of the season on DVD and have been obsessed ever since. Thanks Joss for the memories of one of the best female based tv shows of the past 25 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched the first episode when it first aired. I was a freshman in high school...no, wait...I was an 8th grader, I still had a year until high school...but I loved the Buffy movie (more than normal, since Kristy Swanson was my first big girl crush), so I had all the promo posters and magazine ads on my wall. When it came on, I remember falling in love all over again...it was different than the movie...the vampires actually went Poof, instead of 'ohh, ahh, it hurts...fall down.' It was soooooo cool.
That's when I fell in love with Alyson Hannigan, too. Then, it was...forget Buffy, forget Kristy Swanson...hello Willow...
I wound up loving the show better than the movie, and I figured it be the opposite, since I REALLY loved the movie. The next day at school, I remember everybody talking about how hott SMG was...and I was silently secure in the fact that Willow was all mine...lol.

I watched Buffy when it first aired 10 years ago. i'd seen the movie , mainly because luke perry was in it and quite enjoyed it (i saw it a gain recently and thought it was just awful). I remember my husband and i disgussing how funny it was that they were making the movie which hadn't been a big success into a tv showand how that never worked (how wrong we were!). we were both interested so tuned in. I liked season one and watched it every week but it was season two that really hooked me - yes i admit, the introduction of Spike was the reason. Thank god for the internet as, being in Australia we were always about six months behind. i soon discovered the joys of being a spoiler whore and spent many a long hour (or two, or three...) with Leoff Online's wildfeed spoiler page.... ah the good old days.

I was also a fan of the movie, I remember my dad taking me to see it at the mall when I was 8 years old and then buying the soundtrack. So I guess I've been a Buffy fan from the beginning like many of you. I can't remember how I heard about the TV show but I remember I used to watch it on Friday nights on YTV here in Canada during the first season. I loved it from the moment it came on. I was made fun of a lot when I was 12 years old for watching it, but I wore my Buffy t-shirt proudly. I grew up on Buffy, it took me from childhood to adulthood. I don't know how I'd have gotten through those crazy teenage years without it. I used to have one of those six-foot cardboard stand-ups of Buffy in my room, and I swear every time I walked in the room I almost died of fright. I always thought it was a real person! So Happy Anniversary Buffy and gang, you made me who I am today.

Wow 10 years thats mad I was 11 when it first started on TV. I have been a fan since the Movie my dad brought me the video when I was 8 because it had the word Vampire in it and Luke Perry lol. When I watched it I was so excited that a girl was fighting vampires and I wanted to be just like her. Then when I was 11 my mum and dad told me that Buffy has been turned into a TV show I was really excited and couldnt wait to see it and I did and never missed one episode. I got all the seasons on Video and then DVD and then my boyfriend brought me the Limited Edition Box Set and now my collection is complete. So Happy 10th Anniversary Buffy you have inspired all the girls out there in the world to be strong and not take any crap from anyone.

I was 7 or so when the movie came out and Luke perry with vampires: had to see it! needless to say, i thought it was fabulous...hey i was 7! then when the show came on, i watched whenever i could, but never got to see all the eps. and all in order. So the past year or so, after college, when I got some money, I bought all the angel and buffy seasons. In the past year, I have watched them both (in their order- switching between buffy and angel as when they aired) about three times!!! Seriously i just realized how crazy that is.....12 seasons total, 3 times since last may....wow. i need to get out more! ...then again, nah...i love buffy too much!

Hmmm, well I actually didn't really care about the show at first. I loved the movie as a child though. I remember it being on TV a lot, when I was like 5 years old. I was in love with the Kristi Swanson Buffy. The first episode I ever caught a glimpse of was when "Nightmares" aired. All I remember is Buffy in the gym with the ugly man, and then my grandma came in the room and made me turn it off because it was "garbage" LOL Back then, I didn't even know that was BtVS so I didn't really care. My dad's ex-wife loved the show. Whenever I'd visit them, she'd always watch it on Monday or Tuesday nights, whatever day it was on around the 4th season. I never sat down with her to watch a whole episode. I do remember seeing Riley a lot though. Grrr! I finally started watching it with her during the 5th season, when I started living with her and my dad. The first whole episode I ever saw was Buffy Vs. Dracula, I think. Unfortunately, my mom made me go and live with her again, which was around the middle of the season, so I didn't get to see anymore because she didn't have cable and I missed the season finale but Shauna (the stepmom) told me what happened and I could NOT believe Buffy died, LOL! But then I went back to live with my dad and her for good, right before season six started. I started watching every single episode and I was hooked. I soon became obsessed and loved the show even more than Shauna did! I also got my mom hooked on the show lol. We still have Buffy marathons when I go visit her.
