Ya know, I remember thinking initially when Willow turned Dark after Tara's death that they might bring Oz back to talk her down. Even though Wiillow is gay...he was the first person she ever really fell in love with.I'm not saying that they should have gotten back together. I just think Oz always had such a great way with talking to Willow. Like when they were in the van in Season 2 and she wanted to makeout and he went into that amazingly well put statement about why he thinks they should wait. He didn't say much on the show but when he did...his words were great. Anyhoo, it would have been great to see Oz back even for one episode. Anyone else think that would have been a interesting way to do things?Anyone else think they were going to bring him back?

IIt's always seemed strange to me that he never came back. He will be in the comics, though, I'm sure of that, which could actually be really interesting. He probably has no idea what Willow's been through since he left.

I liked the way his character developed and moved on. But it was great to see him stop by in season 4.

I think he will come back. If not in Buffy Lynch will use him for Angel. Hey he might even be someone that crosses over between the comics!

I'd love for Oz to return. He's coming back in Season 8 or 9 I think.

I've said my peace with the Oz character...and surpringly, wouldn't mind him returning, just as long as they don't put Willow and Oz back together.

I've always been a fan of Oz, ever since he first came to the show. And even though I wasn't big on the Willow/Oz pairing, I never disliked him. I would love for him to come back, especially if it was in the Angel comics.

Oz was one of the best characters of the whole series. and Willow broke his heart as much as he broke hers.

I wasn't really talking about xander... but thanks for bringing it up. I was talking about Tara, I don't dislike Tara. but I didn't like it that they made her the replacement for Oz.

Willow was a kid at the time. And it was a KISS, with her childhood sweetheart. She didn't bone Xander. Willow was even willing to work with Oz, and make it better, but he was selfish and just took off. Slime ball. Oz wasn't exactly himself when he did anything but kiss either. I'd have loved an Oz return in season 7. I don't think he should have talked Willow down in Grave, great Xander moment. It would have been nifty if Oz had sensed Willow's pain and made his way back to be with her. Would have saved us from Kennedy too.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about Oz returning; I'm not sure how well he would work on paper, in that a lot of what Oz was about was derived from him not saying an awful lot, which would pretty much translate to him hanging around on the edge of every other panel in the comic book. I think in terms of who you have on and offscreen has to be a hell of a lot tighter when you only have twenty-odd pages to tell your story. Further, the show changed a hell of a lot between season four and the finale, and I don't know where Oz would fit into such a vastly changed dynamic.
That said, there might be some interesting stories there, certainly in how everything that has happened to Willow would affect her relationship with Oz if he were to come back. That's not to say that I see fat grandchildren or anything of the like, but I do think it will be interesting to see how Joss plays it if Oz's return transpires.
As for Oz supposedly being scheduled for season six of Angel, I always thought that was Joss going for a very obvious story in order to please the fans, which would have played out a hell of a lot differently if it had actually made it to screen; I feel the same way about the 'magic shoes' / Tara resurrection pish that rears it's head every so often. Since there are only twelve issues of the Angel book, I'm not sure how Oz would fit in there, either. That said, IDW are nothing if not fan pleasing, and given some of the characters they're apparently throwing into the great big gumbo - Gwen Raiden, I'm looking at you - I suppose anything goes.

Except, Willow's realized she's gay and doesn't like men sexually. So poor Oz would come back to her for nothing. Awwwwe. Mua ha ha ha ha! That's not what I was getting at; something more along the lines of an exploration of what happens when you meet up with an ex - particularly a first love - after going through so many things and changing so much. How that relationship changes and becomes something completely unique. I don't want to suggest that I see Willow jumping Oz's bones and populating the extended Buffyverse with a series of redheaded children named after all their dead friends. We have Harry Potter for that sort of thing. MB x

Just cause she's had two girl friends (can you really count Kennedy as a girlfriend?!?!) doesn't mean that shes gay forever...she's just looking for true love (oh my gosh that sounds so dorky!!) Tara was that, but she's gone so it could be Oz, or some new guy or girl. I guess we'll find out in the future... I just hope that she docent pick another mini slayer, they're all kinda young.

If Oz did comeback, and I hope he does, I think it would be to help more than to see Willow. When he left in "New Moon Rising" he was happy for Willow. And even if they did get back together would that be such a bad thing? I mean Willow will always love Oz. It is one of those traits you get with a first love. It happens. I think she had two soul mates.Tara was her gay soul mate and Oz was her strait one.. It really has nothing to do with gay or strait it is about who you really think you belong with.

Except...Willow doesn't like penises, according to the season 7 episode. lol So it is a gay/straight thing. Willow was completely unsociable and alone, and Oz was someone who loved her with all his heart. She loved being loved. She liked having someone thinking she was beautiful, cool, etc. He was more of a best friend to her than a true lover. Well I guess...except for in Graduation Day...when she lost her virginity and was all about it. She clearly loved Oz. Don't even try to undermine this fact. After becoming an adult she just preferred women, that's all. That doesn't mean Oz was less important to her. I've been re-watching the earlier seasons, and I had forgotten about some good Willow/Oz moments. It wasn't about getting love from someone. It was about getting love from Oz, who she was in love with! Even when faced with choosing between him or Xander, she wanted to reconcile with Oz. You are saying that she only was with him because she wanted to be loved. If that's the case then the same could be said of Tara as well as Kennedy. Moreover, a teenage relationship cannot be compared to an adult one. Looking back, MY feelings and such are much different now than when I was a junior/senior in high school. It doesn't make any experiences less pivotal though. Willow wouldn't be who she is now if it weren't for Oz.

It doesn't make any experiences less pivotal though. Willow wouldn't be who she is now if it weren't for Oz. Pretty much my way of thinking too. Willow chose a gay lifestyle because she realised that she prefers a relationship with members of the same sex but I still believe that the evidence of the show makes it very obvious she is bisexual. There was absolutely nothing about her sexual and emotional relationship with Oz that was forced or uncomfortable. She was absolutely in love and lust with the guy and had things happened differently she might still be. Don't get me wrong, her relationship with Tara was just as fulfilling to her, both emotionally and physically, and now given the choice I tend to believe she would stick to a gay relationship, but if there was one guy in the world that would be capable of getting her back into a heterosexual relationship then that would be Oz. I'd love to see a storyline in season 8 where she meets a guy (maybe Oz again?) and falls in love. There are plenty of straight and gay characters on television these days. About time the bisexual community had someone to represent them.

i miss his smart remarks and his blank facial expressions. but oz shouldn't come back. he spent most of the show being in a relationship with willow. without that, there isn't much to his character that we need to know.
