Sarah's Maxim Interview: Buffy Snippets

Hey gang!

I picked up the new issue of Maxim, featuring an interview with Sarah Michelle Gellar! I didn't even know, but she is 30 now!! She looks great!

Anyway here are the Buffy questions, the interviewer asked:

MAXIM: Let's talk Buffy. Could you tell that it was ground-breaking while you were filming it?

SMG: I had a feeling because it was the first of it's kind. There wasn't anything else at the time that said women could be flawed and sexy and kick ass. A vampire is the ultimate sexual metaphor: You love someone so much that you want to suck their blood. You want to drain them, you want all of them. Not to mention leather pants, and high heels kicking butt!

MAXIM: Have you ever seen any of the porn versions of Buffy?

SMG: Yeah, I think there was a Muffy the Vampire Layer....
We had a cast viewing in one of the trailers. You know you've made it when they make a porn version of you.

MAXIM: Are crazed fans like us still coming up to you to talk about the show?

SMG: At least once a day, but at least they say nice things. When I was on all my children, people would get so mad they'd yell at me. A woman came up to my mom in a bank and yelled, "I don't think it's right of your daughter to lie on the witness stand about being raped!" People take it very seriously.

I think it's nice that she seems to look on Buffy with affection. I am glad as well that we are such nice fans!!

So, my mother will buy me Cosmopolitan when SMG is in it but she won't let me get Maxim.

I don't see the big deal with it. There's no nudity or anything. You don't even have to be 18 to buy it.

It is nice that she looks at Buffy with affection CowboyGuy. Thanks. And the thing with Sarah's mother in the bank made me laugh!

NO MONEY!!! 15, haven't been given the chance to take Driver's Ed yet, so I couldn't get to work very easily if i had too.

One thing i didn't like about this interview was that they said 6 years of vampire slayer in stead of 7 tut tut tut shame on them

I can understand your mother's reluctance to let you get Maxim - although Cosmo is racier IMO. Why not make a deal with your mother - ask her to buy it and put it away for you - boarded and bagged, sealed with a sticker so she can tell if you peeked - and to give it to you when she feels you are old enough. That way you will have a mint condition Maxim in future. You can read the interview stuff online as other members are sharing the story.
As a mom, myself, I would consider this a demonstration of your maturity in finding a mutually agreeable solution.

Turns out the only reason she wouldnt let me have the Maxim issue was because she didn't want to buy it. I got money some how (Why can't I remember how?) and bought it.

And she didn't give me the interior to the Cosmopolitan issue, just the cover. LOL

She wasnt wrong either. Google it. LOL. It actually gets results. (Just dont click on the results. You never know what kind of viruses you'll get on your computer.)
