I have this ongoing complaint with my aunt. I'm watching Buffy and Angel all over again with her because she's never seen it. But she took me to Slay-A-thon in August so when we knew for sure we were going to that I had her start watching BtVS. She liked the show, and odd as it sound she once had a nightmare after watching it that she was turned into a vampire, lol. We've now finished Buffy and are in the middle of Season 2 of Angel. Something that has gotten on my nerve for a long while now is her HORRIBLE whedon vocab...
SPIKES
She believes stakes are called spikes. So we're sitting there, watching Buffy and Spike say in Season 5 and she says "She's about to spike him." And I just look at her and calmly say "stake." And she says," well, yeah, but its a spike."
THE ONE
So, she also always kept calling The First "The One". Like it was THE ONE evil, not THE FIRST evil. But in Season One of buffy she called The Master just that, The Master. Today we watched an ep of Angel, and its showing the Master taking his hood off as he is about to sire Darla and my aunt goes "IT'S THE ONE!" lol. I said, "No, first you were calling The First that and now The Master." And she says "Oh, whatever."
Would this get on any of your nerves?

A stake can be called a spike. There the same thing really. Only stake sounds better.

I told her I was going to make fun of her at SlayAlive and she said "When is that?" She always thinks I'm talking about Slay-A-Thon when I say SlayAlive and I correct her every time. LOL. She's not really stupid.

Yes, I find it annoying when my brother refers to stakes as spikes... And 'The One' would be equally annoying.

At least she's watching. with you. Consider it an eccentricity of hers.

At least she's watching. with you. Consider it an eccentricity of hers. Thats a BIG word. And I'm in all Honors classes. Wow. She LOVES Law and Order like crazy, and she owns Season One of both SIX FEET UNDER and DEXTER. She is nuts about Dexter. And she took me to Slay-A-Thon last year.
