I also heard that in Restless, Angel was supposed to appear in Buffy's dream as the conduit for the First Slayer and Faith was supposed to appear in the whole "be back before Dawn" scene. But Tara got those scenes.

Also in "The Gift" I think I heard something on a forum about how Team Angel was supposed to come in and help them and junk. But that would have soured the finale, iono maybe just Angel, Cordy, and Wes. OMG I would've killed to have Cordy appear just ONE more time on Buffy, just ONCE so she could rub it in the Scoobies faces at how much she changed. LOL I'm rambling.

Also in Buffy vs. Dracula, they were planning on just having some random ancient vamp come in and show Buffy her dark side, like a Dracula-type character, but then Joss said "Why not Dracula...he's public domain".

Also in Season 2, The Anointed One was supposed to be the Big Bad but the kid was still growing and ofcourse vamps aren't supposed to age, so they killed him off and intro'd Spike and Dru.

Also Angel, Oz, and Anya were supposed to be one-time characters, but fans liked them so much they kept them on.

Also that in Conversation with Dead People, The First was supposed to appear in the forms of Jesse and Halfrek to Xander and Anya. And, sometime in that season, it was supposed to appear as Kendra to Buffy.

And, that they were thinking about making Faith a regular on Angel.

And that Dawn was originally supposed to appear in "The Girl in Question" but Michelle Tratchtenberg was busy so they got Andrew back.

And Buffy was supposed to make a short appearance in Power Play like Angel did in End of Days but she was busy.

And that they had planned on making The Hellmouth the main attraction in "The Gift" .

And that Anya was supposed to die in "The Gift" but Emma Caulfield kept moving while Xander was carrying her.

And, that if Angel continued on tv as Season 6 they were contemplating bringing in Oz as a regular and Anya until Emma Caulfield stated she wanted Anya to leave and didn;t want to make any more appearances

That they were making a decision on wether or not to make either WIllow or Xander gay.

And that they were thinking about having the character Pike be the one to come visit Buffy in Lie To Me, but they created the new character Ford instead.

I know it's quite unimportant, but I think Halfrek's ghost was supposed to actually be her in "Conversations with Dead People", and not the first. It was supposed to pay off D'hoffryn's unusual punishment in "Selfless".

The writers wanted to bring back Snyder in season 7.

Nicholas Brendon offered to move over to Angel after Buffy ended, but it was declined.

Had Seth Green not moved on permanently in Buffy season 4, Oz would have returned to Buffy, or possibly even Angel, as a regular again.

Whistler was set to return for the Angel series, however the character of Doyle was created instead.

Spike and Dru were supposed to return at the end of Buffy series 3, but it didn't happen because Joss couldn't fit them in.

Joss wanted Buffy to appear in Angel season 5, but eventually chose not to as SMG could only fit the season finale into her schedule. Joss declined as he felt it would be wrong to end with the focus lost on a guest appearance.

Originally, there was going to be no Jasmine character in season four. Cordelia was going to be the "big bad." Whedon had originally planned for the season to end with a battle between Angel and Evil Cordelia.

I totally understand Joss reasonings behind his decision but dang....I really wish Buffy woudld have been in the last episode. Even if she jsut showed up at the end to help in the battle or maybe a falshback to an unseen scene from the past! Anything!!

The part about Faith killing Wesley and then Buffy finding her hanging...creepy! I'm glad they didn't do that. It would have been a little too dark, even for Buffy.

You know, I've never thought of that before! That would have been quite cool, a mirror to End of Days

But I'd say I prefer the Connor ending though, it was so great to finally see Angel & Connor fighting side by side as father and son (instead of fighting each other!)

Man I'm glad they didn't kill off Faith, she's one of my favourite characters. Same with Wes, plus we would have never seen him become the person he turned into midway through Angel S3, the dark and brooding Wes, though Buffy turn up in Angel S5 would have been too cool, even if it was only for a little while.
