Amy??

hey so did u like when Amy was good or bad shes back in season 8 as a big bad but i liked her in the early season of Buffy as a good guy and i was hoping she would stay good in season 6 witch she didn't so i was just wondering what u thought..

I liked her in the show. The idea of her being such an evil and calculated villain in the comic is still hard to swallow.

I don't think so. The idea was first sowed in season six when Willow turned her human again. She was a bad influence on Willow, she was the friend with no inhibitions and no empathy. Then in season seven she came back and was jealous of Willow and showing definite tendencies to turn to the less good side. Casting spells to bring someone down because you're jealous of them? Then in "season eight" she has a serious grudge against Willow. She is still jealous of Willow which is a fitting metaphor for the damage that can do to a person. It can drive people to do pretty scary things.

But the comic establishes that she hasn't turned into big bad material, she has been since the end of season 6. It doesn't make much sense in my opinion.

Amy is awesome! Good or bad I love her character! I was getting sad at that one part in Season 8 when Buffy threw the grenade at her. I was like "NOO!" lol

I always had the though Amy would have turned evil after her mother was gone.
She to me always suited a evil character more then a good character. They say that being brought up in a bad environment can some times cause children to grow up thinking that the environment there in now is normal so in Amy's case her mother being evil this could have effected her during her growing. Then being chased and set to burn at the stake in season3 wouldn't have helped her. The finding out when shes back that Willow has this great life and is a powerful witch will make her jealous of her.
Then when Willow shut her out leaving her with no friends and stuff its gotta have caused something inside her.

So i think its to be expected for her to turn evil.

I would imagine that was her goal when she first started exploring magic, but in the end she just kind of lost her way to the power that using magic symbolized.

She enjoyed it, and was already using it to her advantage in Season 2, and over time she just became more and more dependent on it. It turned her into a vain woman, because in the end, all she cared about was her reliance on magic and no one else.

I never liked amy as a person. LOL. Cause she was pretty much always damaged goods, in the manipulative self involved kinda way. I thought she was fun as a character though, i love the way Joss keeps these minor characters around through the whole show. It's very realistic, since sunnydale is after all, only a small town.

I think she was better as petty evil than actually evil personally, just cause she does the suttle bitch thing was always darkly amusing. As an actual villain, well, she's just annoying, not intimidating enough. And how did she suddenly get so powerful? - i thought she hated willow for being so powerful cause she couldn't reach those heights, but she was pretty much taking willow blow for blow in issue 3.

If I had to guess Amy's sudden power surge was attributed to two things: (a) Maybe her time spent trapped underneath Sunnydale, and her continuing spiral into crazyland helped hone her power, or (b) Joss and Co. just wanted someone that could stand toe to toe with Willow in Season 8, just so Willow can have a nice challenge.

Her character was so inconsistent to me.Yeah, in the early Seasons she did stupid magic things like trick her teacher into thinking she had already turned in homework. The love spell episode was more Xander blackmailing Amy.
Then when she was brought back from Rat form, she was this crazy powerful badass and how in the heck was she able to find Rack...heck how was she able to be acquainted with Rack!
Her mother was the witchy one. She only came into her magic after her mom was killed by Buffy and Co.
She wasn't practicing magic that long.
I may be missing something but I didn't like her being a "bad guy".
