The Giles and Tara Standing in the Way/Under Your Spell song is the best for me. I can't pick who's got the better voice cause they're both amazing.

Before I began puberty, singing all of Tara's parts in OMWF was my favorite thing to do.

I am probably going to get kicked out of the forum for saying this but...I think Ambers voice is pretty over rated.
I really liked Sarah's voice. It was pretty fawed but it sounded the least strained to me.

Tony, James and Amber were the best. Even Joss said it was the three of them that inspired him to write it.

Tony, Amber and Emma were my favorite singers in the episode. Everytime I listen to the soundtrack I find that their voices are pretty calming and nice to listen too. I agree with mawdurnbukanier about Standing/Under You Spell reprise, they both sound great together. I preferred Amber's lower singing to her higher.

Personally, I like listening to James, Amber and Sarah the most. (But the whole soundtrack is awesome!)

Ant was best. Amber was stuck singing too high.

I really liked Amber Benson, Emma Caulfield and Sarah Michelle Gellar's voices the best! The episode itself is awesome!!!

I've got a theory is the one i find myself singing the most. Just because it amuses me i guess. I don't like what can't we do if we're together, thats just uber cheese. Although Joss did explain in the commentary that he intended it to be cheese cause the point was that buffy was just making it up, but, i'm afraid that message kind of went over my head until i listened to the commentary.
I do like amber's voice..., but i don't like the song under my spell, too high. Thats Joss's fault though, not amber's, he made it high to challenge her since that wasn't what she usually sang. But, a beautiful throaty voice like Ambers..., needs to be a lower key. The reprise gave us a chance to see that though.
Um, i was actually genuinely impressed with all the actor's voices to be honest. It's pity Alyson Hannigan had to be such a wimp about the whole thing hahaha, only doing a line or three of all the songs..., tut tut. I'm sure she could of worked out her singing issues with a bit of practice. Although i do sympathise, i find singing hard myself. I think a quirky willow song about colour coding and frogs would of been priceless though. Ohhh, i can dream.

In a strict critique, I was not impressed with Sarah's voice. It sounded hallow and lacking timbre most of the time. Tony, James, and Emma were my favorites, with Amber at a close fourth simply because she was stuck singing higher than her range, which was mentioned earlier.
Overall, the majority of the melodies written by Joss made the episode sparkle.

In SMG's defence, I think the recording process was quite unfavourable for all of them. I remember being amazed at how nice she sounded rehersing in some behind the scenes footage.

I'm going to go out on a limb by myself here and say that I wasn't particularly impressed with James' performance. My band has done backup for lots of local "talent shows," and I hear any number of local singers who are just as good if not better. Others' MMV.

I actually watched this episode last night, and for some reason I was more impressed with Sarah's voice this time around. In all of my past viewings I never really thought much about it, but I was really impressed last night. I will admit that her voice does go a little dry in some parts, but I thought she carried her songs rather well. She still doesn't hold a candle to Tony, James, or Amber, but I am rather impressed that they got everyone to sound as good as they did (not including Alyson, of course ).

I'm not sure why you can criticize the actors singing. Sarah isn't a singer. Only James and Tony really where. They did there best with what they had. I wouldnt say any of them where that bad.

I enjoyed the whole thing. Considering only a couple of them sing professionally, I was impressed with it all. I do agree that I think Amber's song was stuck a little too high. I wish Alyson would have had more confidence to sing. I think she would have been fine. I would have also liked to hear more from Michelle/Dawn. I thought Emma did surprisingly well. James I'm partial too just because I love his music anyway. We already knew Anthony could sing, so that one was obviously great. Sarah and Nick I thought did well. Don't see them looking to sing again, but all things considering I think they held their own.

They all had pretty great singing voices but yeah, I'd definatly have to go with the Tara and Giles duet. I'm actually really excited to go and see Anthony Stewart Head in the upcoming musical movie "REPO! The Genetic Opera". From the previews, it sounds like his voice just keeps getting better and better
