Why was there so much emphasis on Vampires not breathing ? In season 1 Of Buffy in "Prophecy Girl" Angel couldnt give Buffy CPR because he couldnt breathe, Yet in the 1st episode of Angel Series 2, he blew out a match with his breathe.. Just found it quite annoying that the directors and writers didnt notice this !

I suppose Angel meant that Xander would be better at CPR because he could match Buffy's-to-be-breathing. Since Xander himself had a heart beat and breath, he knew the rhythmen.
Perhaps.

Vampires not breathing was one of the most consistent inconsistencies in the series, with Spike being the worst example as he is constantly smoking which requires breath last time I checked. This stuff rarely bugs me too much cause it's background stuff and can be just written off, but by far the worst offense is in Bring On The Night, where he is TORTURED by DROWNING. Wtf? Maybe his restoration of his soul restored some of his lung power? Yeah, I'm reachin'. I guess the writer forgot Spoike's a vampyre.

Vampires are ex-humans, therefore they have a breathing motion, allowing them to smoke. Also, oxygen and carbon dioxide are floating around in their atmosphere all the time, so they are bound to take in a little bit. They don't need to breathe however. Also, I think that the drowning of Spike was more psychological torture rather than physical torture. And don't forget Angel in the ocean. That was torture too, although I think that this was more uncomfortable for Spike than painful.

Angel was in an air tight box. He wasn't actually in the water. That has no relation with the drowning of Spike. Your other point is semi-reasonable I suppose, but drowning being psychological torture, sorry that's just stretching it. The First's primary weapon is psychological torture which it does with words.

From my recollection, Angel was in water, as it was not air tight.
This inconsistency always kinda bugged me too. In fact, I was just discussing this last night! Logically, it makes no sense in Prophecy Girl for Angel not to perform CPR because he doesn't need to breathe he therefore wouldn't be breathing out CO2... Vampires are the perfect candidates for CPR!
Anyway, I think the creators/writers were trying to set up Xander as an humanic hero comparative to Angel and Buffy. When he can, he will be heroic.

Perhaps angel let him do it so that Buffy wouldn't be that attachted to him, if she realizes who saved her. as we can see in early season two, Angel still has a problem with dating Buffy.

No, he does it because "Vampires don't breath" as he points out quite a bit over the years. Meh it's inconsistent, the best I've ever heard is that mystically Vampires simply aren't life giving and therefore couldn't do it, it's not concrete but it still explains how Spike and Angel could smoke.
As for the drowning being psychological torture, it's not psychological as in "Ooh I'm getting into his head" as it is in the sense of sensory depravation. Submerging someone into water isn't a particularly pleasant experience, breathing or not, especially holding them there and filling their mouth, nostrils, and lungs (working or not) with water.

Ouch that's gotta hurt having your face dumped in acid for vamps.

What really disturbed me was in "The Girl In Question" Angel is at a club in Rome and asked the bartender if she'd seen Buffy. He describes by saying she has blonde hair with BLUE eyes. UGH! ITS GREEN!!! YOU TWO ARE SOUL MATES AND YOU DONT EVEN KNOW HER EYE COLOR!

I saw somewhere where it explains how Spike smokes without being able to breathe. I'll try to find it!

After reading fanfic after fanfic where buffy's blue eyes are mentioned and seeing picture after picture with SMG with blue eyes and then hearing that on Angel... I wanted to explode.

Me too that always bugged me! like HELLO THERE NOT BLUE i mean the actors had worked with her for years! so had joss so why say there blue when there clearly not! Oh and this is just a tiny little thing that doesn't really fit here but did anyone notice in the episode him dawn leaves the principles office and leaves her bag hanging on the chair? then when shes in the hall she magically has it again? And i know thats just a stuff up but you think they would have noticed and done another take

ITS GREEN!!! YOU TWO ARE SOUL MATES AND YOU DONT EVEN KNOW HER EYE COLOR! Apparently all that time Angel and Buffy were together and in love, he was busy staring at her chest and not gazing lovesick into her eyes. Maybe if he'd drawn some pictures of her with pastels instead of charcoal he would've remembered. Way to go with the photographic memory, Angel.

Of course! Holy water! Emmie you're a genius. Now that scene don't have to bother me anymore. Sorry but I can't buy this. If it was holy water then how come there was no smoking? How come Spike's face wasn't covered in burns and boils? When Buffy slams a bottle of Holy water in the Turok-han's face, you can see red splotches where the water fried his skin. Does this mean Spike has harder skin than the Turok-han? Spike's already known to be more flame retardant than other vamps. Now you say he has a greater resistance to Holy water? Maybe Spike is some kind of Super Vamp? Or maybe God thinks he's just too pretty to get mutilated that way.
