Almost 5 years

Wow, it's so hard to believe it was almost 5 years ago that Buffy the Vampire slayer had it's Series Finale!

March 3, 1997 – May 20, 2003




Also in almost one Month we see the ending of Angel.

October 5, 1999 – May 19, 2004

It actually feels longer than five years for me.

But let's see... on May 20, 2003 I was a nearing the end of my sophomore year in high school. Seems like forever ago. Now I am just about a year away from finishing college.

I had taped the final episode and I watched it probably 3 or 4 times the next day after it aired. I had to keep rewinding the scene where Anya was sliced because I just couldn't believe what had happened.

Wow, I missed alot of Buffy on TV, I could only catch up through the DVD's.

I still remember almost everything that day, and the two days after where I couldn't go to school because I was so emotionally distraught.

*Anya dies*
Me: She DID NOT just die.
Mom: Looked like it.

Also my sister saying that it was a sucky ending right when the credits started rolling and my mom asking if those were houses when Sunnydale was collapsing and much, much more.. A terrible, terrible day.

The only episodes/seasons I saw on TV were reruns, and the only episode on TV I saw that was new was Pangs

It's so weird because I remember bits and peices from when I younger and I didn't really understand the storylines very well.

I felt quite empty when it ended, it was my obsession for 6 years (I discovered it during Season 2), kinda felt like breaking up since I had such an emotional attachment. My mates took the piss but I don't care.

I feel like in some ways I've been mourning the end of the show for the past five years. As a fan since season 1, my only real fandomness consisted of me watching every episode when it aired and loving every minute of it. After it ended, I discovered the world of online fandom and fanfic. I hadn't even joined a forum until 2 months ago here at Slayalive. I can't imagine a future me who isn't still in love with BtVS/AtS, my fandomity (my made up word of the day) just keeps evolving as time goes by over the past 11 years. Wow 11 years.

I'm greatful to the comics for revitalizing the Buffyverse. There's someting indescribably wonderful about that feeling of excitement when you're about to begin reading a new issue. I do believe my squeals of joy resemble Buffy's shoe noises

I was not there... But, on a related note, it is almost exactly one year, to the best of my recollection, since I started watching Season 1 on DVD.

wow ! i was younger then and dont really remeber it, i remeber bits and pieces of when i use to watch it, I watched all of season 6 on TV was like 10 I think not sure,
My anniversary for Buffy is Christmas 2006 when I got every single Buffy season on DVD, It was bliss !

I remember watching the scene in "Chosen" when Anya dies on Sky One.

Bringer raises his knife to Andrew: "ANDREW!"
Anya stabbed: "ANYA!"
Principal Wood stabbed: "PRINCIPAL WOOD!"
Giles stabs bringer that stabbed Wood, I think Giles gets stabbed: "GILES!...Oh..."

My dad knew what the ending to Angel was and all he said was that I wouldn't like it. At first I didn't but it definatley grew on me. It's still an awesome ending. Buffy season 7 ending was fantastic I rememeber just sitting there thinking what am I going to watch now? It was my fav programma and still is .....aprt from Angel which in my opinion is better.

Yeah, ever since I bought the AtS DVD's and watched the series from beginning to end about 2 years ago or so, I was on the Angel bandwagon and haven't jumped off since.

Doesn't mean I like "Buffy" any less. I just like "Angel" more.

I kind of find a Angel a bit boring but that's probably just me who thinks that.

Yeah I do. Buffy has good episodes and even brilliant epiosdes alot from the eraly seasons (1-3) season 4 was okay but Adam did nothing but hide in a cave the whole season, season 5 was brilliant, season 6 was good and funny but ti was just missing something, season 7 was fantastic but have a few problems with it.

Now Angel is far from perfect but I feel over all it is stronger than Buffy. Season 1 pure gold, season two fantastic plot all the way through, a few un-needed standalone episodes but still good. Season three just got better and better from beginning to end. Wesley stealing Connor and thrn Angel trying to kill him is one of the high-lights. Now season 4 could be considered one of the best seasons if it weren't for stupid Jasmine. I loved season 4 up until episode 18. The second Angel comes back and Faith leaves to got o Sunnydale it's all down hill from there. Now season 5 again pur gold. Hilarious, brilliant fight scenes, and it has Smile Time and Illyria. So Woo!!
