I've been re-watching Buffy and Angel in order, and I really got to see how they developed through the years. I agree that Gunn really changes, and his changes are very subtle until Season 5. I like how he slowly develops into the man he becomes, and he's the first one who is pretty much sold on the Wolfram and Hart deal. I don't LOVE Gunn the lawyer, but I think that part of his story is important because his longing to change too fast costs Fred her life. He's the character I am most interested in reading about in ATF.
Besides Gunn, I think its really cool how they develop the secondary characters, like Anne and Harmony. Harm is in episode 1 of Buffy and the final episode of Angel. She's there for the long haul. As for Anne, I like how we get to see her change personas and eventually give back to kids that are just like her.

Seriously, who would of thought that Harmony would have existed for so long. I was never a big fan until Season 4 of Buffy. That's when she started becoming a much more significant character plus Mercedes McNab is incredibly attractive.
