Principal Snyder Appreciation Thread

I'm just re-watching the entire series and I just watched The Puppet Show, Principal Snyder's wonderful debut.
I just thought I'd start a thread for the awesomeness that was Principal Snyder. Before he was eaten by the Giant Mayor demon of course.

Snyder was the principal from hell, but seriously one of Buffy's best characters. Band Candy was the greatest.

Let us post our wonderful memories of this big eared little weasel.

Well, while I never liked Snyder I think he was a cool addition to the show. And he was necessary to provide some much needed trouble for Buffy. And to be a constant annoyance. Go Snyde Man!

After watching the Buffy seasons over a couple of times Snyder grew on me. The only episode I really didn't like him in was Becoming. But he was great in Band Candy. "Whoa, Summers you drive like a spaz!"

Snyder was with a doubt the greatest Sunnydale High Principal. So evil you just wish you could beat the crap out of him, which I think makes him wicked cool. He was hilarious! Right down to his final words, I was so happy to see him again in Restless and he was my favorite part in Band Candy, especially when he does is Taekwondo.

I totally agree. Band Candy was the pinnacle of Principal Snyder. But in Becoming I hated him too. I guess we love to hate him.

I hated him. Didn't love to hate him. Just hated him. He irritated me. I didn't think he was a fun villian to watch the way that Glory was.

But he was hilarious in Band Candy. Inside he was just a super dork who wanted to be popular. It didn't make me any more sympathetic to him. But it was fun to see him in a different context.

He cracked me up in his Apocolypse Now turn in Restless. He was less annoying, but more goofy when he showed up as an evil wizard on Charmed.

I loved him ! But I was happy he was eaten by the mayor ! lol A principal who doesn't like students, fun !!! I liked his strange little face with big ears lol

I loved Snyder. He was hilarious. Band Candy is my favorite episode and he totally makes that one awesome. Also his bit in Restless was brilliant!

band candy def. would not have been the same without him. He did really annoy me. I did like the dynamic between him and giles....esp. when snyder is going off about hating kids and giles comments on his career choice....hehehhehe. go passive aggressive giles!

Wouldn't it have been great if joss and co. had decided to add a romantic element to him to develop his character.. may be the evil lunch lady, she may have softened him up a bit.

Best Snyder moment for me is his first scene in season 2 I think, with Giles. The locust speech. It makes me tear up with laughter every time.

Snyder sure could be mean, but man was he funny. Especially in "Band Candy."

Snyder was an amazing addition to the cast. I think he added a nice dynamic and wickedness to the show.

He definitely had some memorable moments like, "What is it...advant garde?", his fear of being sued in the Invisble Girl episode, "volunteering" people in Halloween, his "tingle sensation", all of Band Candy, and of course him being eaten at the end of Season 3. And thats just the tip of some of his greatest moments. Rotten little rodent, but in a fun way that made him the one who you loved to mock.
