A amusing and reflecting analysis of Buffy's hair throughout the seasons. www.tvsquad.com/2008/06/23/the-philosophy-of-buffys-hair/I've never spent that much time thinking about her hair, but this guy had a lot of valid thoughts. Why not do our own analysises of our favorite character's style, hair and/or outfits? The clothes and hair mainly matches the characters, not only the trends. |

Take Willow for example.
Season 1&2:
Mommy buys her clothes. Innocent schoolgirl meets old prude lady. She doesn't seem to care much about her image, probably because she thinks she'll never get noticed anyway. But...
...in season 3, she cuts her hair and starts wearing more feminine and cute clothes. I do believe she dyes her hair too. I think Oz has a lot of do with this change. She wants to look good for her wolf. That she's a fighter of good and a witch in training also helps.
Season 4:
She's styled and aware.
Season 5:
She's confident and happy, which can be seen in her clothes. I would never call her outfits slutty, but she has definitly become more daring. Not to sound stereotype, but she seems to be adapting to the wiccan&lesbian lifestyle. The color, ther cut of the clothes=she's witchy. And the curly hair is her best ever. make-up can also be clearly seen.
Season 6:
She is still maintaning her new image, but her addiction and heartace can be seen. She doesn't seem to care anymore.
Season 7:
Longer hair, less funky and fun. Her clothes are less flashy. She has been through a lot and a war is coming. She doesn't have time to be shallow.
Season 8:
I'm tired of the dress, but she looks real good in it. It kinds hard to see if she's wearing make-up and styling her hair in the comic.
So... I feel shallow now, yet oddly reflective.

its funny because I always remembered seasons in terms of buffys hair. If you gave me a picture of just her hair style I could tell you what season and what was going on.
love that other people paid attention!

I'm totally in tune with Buffy's hair and what season it is. I don't know if I could take it down to the episode (unless its something like Beer Bad where her hair is obviously different).
This topic makes me wonder: With all the cracks that the Big Bads and other evils have made about Buffys hair, is Joss secretly hating on/jealous of Buff's shimmering locks?

Give me any picture, I could tell you what season it was from(especially with those hair clips from Season 3, ha ha). It was a very interesting article, and I do love Buffy's hair evolved. The 1st season hair analysis was spot-on, and I loved it. |

Hmm does anyone else find it funny that Buffy's bangs in Amends coincide with an episode about suicide?
Are the bangs the real reason Angel couldn't live anymore?
