<vomits in mouth> Ugh reality tv is the dregs of televised entertainment. They're hating on everything that has a talented, creative element.
My 3 favorite current shows are House, 30 Rock and HIMYM. Boo! Its the whole 'see no evil, hear no evil' thing except I think they've added 'no brain' to the list.
What's the age they want to limit viewership to? Some of this is more adult content, so I can understand that. But they already have it rated 'mature' in most cases so...redundant much.
I'm shocked they don't have 'Bones' on that list. Even I have to look away when they're examining the bodies and the leftover goo sometimes.

The thing that really annoys me about the groups and people that make these claims is the fact that they have probably never actually sit down and watched the show. They are probably just going by the title alone and that is not enough to base an intelligent opinion on. People like this are really discounting all the good that the show has to offer, and are doing the show and themselves a great disservice. Yes, there is a supernatural element, so what??? Yeah, that stuff is interesting, and cool, and fun, etc, but that's not REALLY what the show is about anyway. The show is about people, people just trying to get through life, and who among us afflicted with the human condition cannot relate to that? The show actually does have very deep rooted moral values and lessons. Yes, you can really learn from Buffy the vampire Slayer. The show has been an invaluable source to me in my life over the years. It has helped me to deal with some hard times in my life. That's why I get so mad when I hear people say things like these, because they really don't know what they are talking about. For me, and I'm sure many others here, Buffy is more than "just a show." And it certainly not a thing of evil. I'm sorry, but those types of claims are just absolutely ridiculous, and the people who make them really have nothing of substance to stand on. All I know is, If loving Buffy is wrong, than I certainly don't want to be right! Buffy has done too much good for me in my life for me to be able to think about it any other way.
In fact, I would like to someday introduce (my future) children to the show. Of course, you would want to keep them away from certain things like a lot of the themes that occur in season 6 for example, and you would have to decide at what age you think is appropriate to let them start watching, but overall, I see nothing wrong with parents letting their children watch Buffy. If anything, I think it would be a great tool for opening up the lines of communication between parents and their children, and get them talking together about serious issues they might not know how to bring up otherwise. Because the show does tackle some very serious issues and themes over the years. I think it could be a great tool if parents knew how to utilize it.
Anyways, I could go on about this all day, as it is something I feel very strongly about, but I will spare you all and just stop there, lol. I am convinced that groups like this exist only to get people rilled up. And if it's one thing that Buffy has, it is a strong and fiercely loyal fanbase surrounding it. We know the good that exists in this show, I just feel really sorry for the others who can't see it. They are truly missing out, all as a result of their closed-minded views.

i see the graphic violence combined with the sex... but that scene where buffy and spike do it is my idea of the most powerful, perfectly rendered metaphor i've ever seen.
