Well.... I will say the headline gets people's attention. With all the faux-rumors the last couple days, I finally thought that MAYBE it was made official. RUDE!

I know...it was totally rude. The point of the article is oh so true, though.

Yeah, I completely agree with it. If a movie doesn't happen, I'll get by. We have seven amazing seasons and pretty good comic book. But if it DOES happen... I will go insane. I can see it happening at some point too.

lol For a second I thought someone had bumped my April Fool's joke from earlier this year. As an eternal optimist, I agree 100% with the blog post. If a movie has any chance of happening, fans (we are all fans right?) should embrace it and be open to the idea of the "stars aligning" one day and a movie getting greenlit. If that day never comes, then nothing will really change in the fandom, but it is the fact that some fans wouldn't want a movie that baffles me.

Yeah, i would definitely love a movie, but I'm not really getting my hopes up. Like you said, no idea why some people wouldn't want it...even if it somehow ended up bad (as if they would all come back for something bad ) you can just ignore it and go back to watching the stuff you love.

Id love to have a movie, but not at the expense of the comics though.

I personally wouldn't mind losing the comic, but I don't think Joss would have to do that. I know he said he would do it, but I don't see how it would be necessary.
And like cyclo said, if it ended up badly (which is probably impossible b/c I be Joss had how this movie will go down in his head for a couple of years now) it would just be like season 7 all over again, for me. A lot of people know how I feel about that season but it doesn't take away my love for the verse, obviously. It's just a hiccup. A very painful and boring hiccup. It would never be enough to stop me from wanting to see those faces on the big screen.

I'd want a Buffy movie...
There was a "Sex and The City" movie and it ruled! Just having all the characters back for a movie, was seriously amazing.

With season 8 being in comic form I think that a movie would screw up the whole 8th season because no one seems to really think of it as a Buffy season. What I mean is that the comic is in no way possible to film (aka giant dawn ect.) without loads of cgi and faking it. Where as the series was almost always pratical effects (excluding season 7). So a movie would be a little underwhelming in comparison to the comic books.

^ Hey if we get a movie AND we're spared pointlessly giant Dawn then it's a bonus.

I stopped getting my hopes up a long time ago. With each year that passes, the likelyhood of a movie happening gets less and less. We thought we were getting a Spike movie... then a Faith movie... then an animated series... then a Ripper movie.... and we were wrong each and every time.
Seriously, I'm not expecting to see any Buffy on the big screen anytime soon. There's just too much going against it and not enough going for it. For starters the actors have all aged. This causes a problem, especially for the immortal characters. The movie would have to be set YEARS after season 8 which could hinder the storylines there.
Also, I don't think many of the actors are especially interested in doing a Buffy movie. They've moved on, maybe we should as well. We've already got seven seasons of TV behind us to enjoy and comics for the next few years to keep us satisfied.
I'd rather Joss work on ideas that would be great than a Buffy movie that might be mediocre. If you want to see a Buffy movie done wrong, try re-watching the Kirsty Swanson movie.

This is the biggest issue I would have with a movie. All I know is Angel better be human cause DB is not looking the same as he looked in '97. I'm not saying the dude looks bad, but even in Angel season 5 I was like "This Vampire is getting older". The longer they wait the more ridiculous it would become. I'm still a big fan of the idea of a CGI Movie or series of Animated videos, I think that's the best way to go. Those can happen at any time...
