I did a bit of a search and couldn't find a thread like this, I hope its not a duplicate.

So tell us which episode you prefer from each season of both Buffy and Angel....

Season 2: Passion and Becoming Part 2 (Tie)
Season 3: Earshot (won over The Wish, because of Buffy's ascent to the tower)
Season 4: Something Blue
Season 5: The Gift
Season 6: OMWF and Tabula Rasa (Tie)
Season 7: Chosen

Angel
Season 1: I Will Remember You
Season 2: Darla
Season 3: Birthday and Waiting in the Wings (Tie)
Season 4: Spin the Bottle
Season 5: Smile Time, A Hole in the World and Not Fade Away (3-way Tie - such a strong season IMO)

Season 2 : Ted
Season 3 : The zeppo (maybe my all seasons favorite)
Season 4 : The yoko factor (Spike at his best)
Season 5 : Fool for love (at this point, you know I'm a Spike fan)
Season 6 : Normal again
Season 7 : Storyteller

Angel

Season 1 : The ring
Season 2 : Guise will be guise (not an easy one, I guess I don't really like that season)
Season 3 : Loyalty (Wesley vs the rest of the world)
Season 4 : Habeas Corpses (zombie lawyers !)
Season 5 : Lineage

I've tried to stay away from season finales and obvious ones (OMWF for example) but I like them, of course.

Wow, this is a tough one to do! Um, crap I just started listing the ones I really liked from each season and I don't know how to narrow it down.

Season 1: Angel, Prophecy Girl
Season 2: Halloween (I just love the fun premise), Innocence, Passion, Becoming
Season 3: Helpless, Earshot, Graduation Day
Season 4: Something Blue, Hush, Who Are You?
Season 5: Fool For Love, The Gift
Season 6: Once More With Feeling
Season 7: Selfless, Showtime, Chosen

Angel
Season 1: I Will Remember You, Five by Five
Season 2: Darla, Reprise
Season 3: Fredless, Billy, Lullaby
Season 4: Spin the Bottle, Salvage, Release, Orpheus, Inside Out
Season 5: Destiny, Damage, You're Welcome, Smile Time, A Hole in the World, Shells, Not Fade Away

This actually helps me say definitively which seasons are my favorite though, because I could have added so many more favorite episodes to Buffy Season 2 and Angel Season 5.

Top 3 Seasons

Buffy 2 > 3 > 5

Angel 5 > 4 > 2

What surprised me so much was that there are a lot of episodes I really liked in Angel Season 4. People always get caught up in the Cordy/Connor nastiness and how the plan is confusing, but there are so many great episodes in that season.

I completely agree. This is the exact reason why I am such a big supporter of Angel Season 4. Thoughts about Connor and Cordelia aside, if you look at each episode individually, you can see that most of them are really quite good. It's one of my favorite Buffyverse seasons because of this, I always get really excited and into this season whenever I watch it.
