Hello. I've only watched Season 7 once or twice through and my friends is currently watching it for the first time and just got to the end of Lessons and was REALLY confused. I didn't know if I should of told him it was The First or not. Do they ever outright SAY it's The First and in what episode???
Thanks.

I think the first time they mention The First is in Never Leave Me, (haha), when the Bringers come and kidnap Spike. Buffy says something like, "I've fought these guys before" and how their "ghosts" are all the same thing, "I know what we are dealing with........ The First." Not exact, but it's something like that.

The First made its first appearance in "Amends" in Season 3. That's why the Scoobies knew about the incorporeal incorporation of dead people.
I think Tyler is right, Never Leave Me should be the first episode the First is mentioned, especially since the Scoobies don't know it by Conversations with Dead People.

Yes that is the first episode that they SAY "The First". I don't think you should tell your friend, Tyler, about them until they finish that episode because it's supposed to be a surprise. If they haven't seen "Amends" then they probably still won't understand it. Then you should tell them about it. That's what I would do.

Yeah, I was leaning towards that...I just didn't remember if season 7 ever actually stated where and when they had seen the first previously and all that jazz from the top of my head.
