I recently re-watched The Girl In Question, and I got to ask: Does anyone else find it funnier knowing that the "Buffy" they were after wasn't the real one?
On a side note:wouldn't Angel and Spike have noticed that Buffy's scent wasn't in the apartment?
Just a thought

Lol... Angel and Spike had a momentary attack of anosmia? On a more serious note... no, I had not thought of that, so kudos! +1 for you!! But I can propose a solution: If the Buffy doubles are meant to be high profile (on in the other case, high profile in an underground way), maybe there's some kind of enchantment that masks the girls' scent. Possibly also fool all the senses into thinking that it's Buffy. I mean, maybe not so much for the girl underground, since they were relying on the underground demons to not really know what she looks like, but the slayer in Rome... she's famous, and I pretty sure there are plenty of demons out there who know what the one and only original slayer looks like. Vamps aren't computer illiterate... at least they haven't been proven so yet. With Google and YouTube... I'll say it'll be a little harder to remain hidden from public scrutiny.

That episode is alot funnier if you think about how they're chasing the Buffy decoy. It'd make sense that Willow did a glamour spell for the Buffy decoy to make her appear like the original. Should be easy for the resident superwitch.
And thinking about it in this light actually makes me happier with Angel hooking up with Nina in the next episode. Angel needs to live in the real world not go tilting at windmills. He has this dream of being with Buffy one day, but if he lets it consume his actions he ends up obsessively stalking a fake-Roman Buffy knockoff.
Again, this retcon actually reinforces the characterization for both BtVS and AtS. I wonder why they even considered the Buffy partying in Rome angle.

Maybe coz they thought she needed a little fun. You know the song... I just need to find a Cyndi Lauper CD somewhere..

I didn't consider a glamour before.Makes sense.
As for why they might have come up with Buffy partying in Rome, perhaps they felt she would have had a vacation. For the decoy,it makes sense to have a decoy operating out in the public eye.
