So i've been sick for a few days and i've been watching Buffy on my new Blu Ray Player i got for my birthday... and maybe it's just me, but i'm on What's My Line (Part One) and throughout seasons 1 and 2, i've noticed that the fighting sounds were either off or non-existant... like when Spike is hitting the wierd librarian guy who is a vampire for some reason... the sound is off by like .5 seconds.
has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?

I haven't noticed. Your above-par Blu Ray prob just caught it...does the quality of the picture improve with the Blu Ray at least?

How are you listening to the sound? Do you have surround sound or is the sound from your Blu-Ray player going from the player and then out through your TV? It may be an issue with improper sound connection, or your Buffy DVD's may just be starting to show their age. I know whenever I pull out my Buffy DVD's, especially Season 1, I grimace at all the scratches that have accumulated throughout the years. If you know anyone else with the Buffy DVD's, you may try playing their DVD on your Blu-Ray player and that will tell you if it is a problem with your sound output, or your actual DVD's. ...does the quality of the picture improve with the Blu Ray at least? Yeah, playing Buffy through Blu-Ray is just about as good as the picture will ever look. Unless they go in and digitally clean up the show like they have with the old Star Trek series, and hopefully release Buffy on Blu-Ray one day, playing the Buffy DVD's in a Blu-Ray player (and on an HDTV, of course), is just about the best the show will ever look.

I haven't noticed. Your above-par Blu Ray prob just caught it...does the quality of the picture improve with the Blu Ray at least? not so much with seasons 1 and 2 cuz they were filmed with weird cameras... seasons 3-7 though are amazing... and to answer Wyndam's question... i don't have surround sound, it's just sound coming from my television... and with stuff i put on my iPod and play it on my tv, sometimes the audio and video are on different tracks and it's off... but that's not the case with my blu ray player... and the age of my dvd's is most likely irrelevant because i've had all of them for less than a year with the exception of season 3 and 6.... it was seasons 1, 2, and Anne from season 3 that's the audio's like... weird.

also, i heard that joss had plans to make seasons 3-7 in the near future (i heard in 2010) and seasons 1 and 2 the following year... cuz seasons 1 and 2 on dvd but played on blu ray is still kinda grainey, same with psych and Firefly on dvd... that's why i got it on blu ray.

It would be a dream come true for many of us if there were to be a Buffy Blu-Ray set released! I would definitely pick that one up, I have been holding out for that! I do not have the Chosen Collection for this reason.

I would love for Buffy and Angel to be released on Blu-Ray as well. There is some great technology around today that can help repair image degradation and make older shows look really awesome (such as the old Star Trek, that I mentioned earlier).
Angel would look a lot better on Blu-Ray as well, as they always used better technology when filming Angel. Season 5 already looks pretty darn awesome upscaled on a Blu-Ray player.

Grrr Buffy/Angel on Blu Ray would be amazing, especially as there is a lot of special effects used in the shows.

If Buffy and Angel are released on Blu-Ray, I'd buy a player. I'd kill to see Buffy Seasons 1 and 2 in higher quality. Part of me loves the way they look now, but it'd be a nice change.

Technology advances everyday. I hope that someday they might find a way to convert Buffy to HD or at least a higher quality where it would look great on Blu-Ray. I would go out and buy either a PS3 or Blu-Ray player just for that!!
We fans are truly outrageous when it comes to stuff like this, haha!

Aw mann, I was stoked when I read the title of the thread! I was hoping Buffy had finally come to BluRay! Haha, I thought the same thing. Amazon actually has Buffy Blu Ray listed, but of course it's not available yet. Oh well, maybe someday. I think they probably will come out with it eventually because FOX, etc., would make a killing of its sales! They would be stupid not to! Speaking as the rabid fan that I am, I know I would buy it!
