I will post my thought as I watch threw buffy the first time. Just be careful what you say. I am avoiding anything that may contain spoilers. Hope to here from others on their thoughts of the shows as I watch them.
I am at the end of season 2. I only have eyes for you.
Good episode. Great metaphor for ho Buff is feeling. Angel acted his part out very well! And you aint human if you wern't moved by angel saying I loved you with my last breath.' Well Done!
Go Fish Funny episode that broke up the recent tention. Now we have the creature from the black lagon episode to go with the other 1950 monster shows.

Here's Go Fish, I'll see about IOHEFY
Go Fish
The Good; Good analogy of the competiveness of sports, the dangers of cheating and sports stars being feted and misbehaving as a result (does a week go by without that happening?). Very nice transformation scenes and a great mislead. Some great humour surrounding Xander and his relationship with Cordy, Snyder and of course the Angel subplot isn't forgotten (Why Miss Summers, you're beautiful). Love her Diana Prince moment and her stalking Gage. Plus Jonathon!
The Bad; Terrible monster outfits! Also isn't it a bit much to let the swimteam just go at the end? They've already killed 2 humans in addition to gangraping Buffy, what if they decide to start attacking yachts full of tasty bimbos etc?
Best line; Xander; I'm undercover Buffy (leering); Not under much!
Wheldon cliches; Knocked out; Character death; the coach and the school nurse at the 5th and 6th members of the SDH faculty to die in 2 years Shot; Tied up; Women good/men bad; Buffy gets sexually assaulted twice, making it the 4th and 5th time for her (if we don't count the Master mauling her) Cam deservedly getting his nose broken in reply to his forcing himself upon her and Buffy's already doubtful reputation ("I heard someone say she was fast") taking a further blow by 'being had' by the entire swimteam. Nice role reversal though in the girls ogling Xander rather than the other way around for once. Subtext; Xander seem nervous at the thought of being in the steam room with a bunch of near naked guys. By contrast the girls all seem to be very taken by the sight of him in his speedos, even Willow which seems to once again suggest she's bi rather than gay
Questions and observations; I always thought the guy from Prison Break looked familar, rewatching this I now know why (although he doesn't have the tats yet). It's a shame he gets transformed, I love the little hints of a relationship developing between him and Buffy, especially a terrified Gage asking Buffy to walk him home after she saves him from Angelus (talk about gender roles reversal, the strapping athlete asking the petite blonde to protect him). Cam reminds me of Buffy's old boyfriend from LA and the type of guys she used to go out with. Now of course she rapidly get's bored of him as he's nothing compared to Angel and the steroids have made him a jerk. Presumably either the coach added magic to the steroid mix or he's another recipient of the Hellmouth Genius effect. 3/5 I think, a pretty slight tale but funny nonetheless

>in addition to gangraping Buffy,
You mean intending to, or at least the coach intending them to, right? That did not actually happen since she beat them right away.

Wow, lucky you getting to watch Buffy for the first time ever! I have seen the episodes a gazillion times and they still hold a magic for me . But oh, to get to see it all over again with fresh, new eyes. I envy you! LOL! Anyways....I actually think that Go Fish was a pretty weak episode as far as the season goes. It didn't seem to be quite on par with other episodes of the season. But as you say, this episode did serve in providing some much needed comic relief from the larger and more serious story arc. I do think the premise of the episode and the way they executed it was interesting. And let's face it, there is really no such thing as bad Buffy. And any Buffy is better than none at all! saturn5, I actually thought the monster outfits were rather well done, especially for it being so early in the series. I agree with you though about Xander in a speedo (who doesn't love that?!) and Buffy's line and all the girls gaping at him was definitely the funniest moment this episode!

all good thoughts. The show is addictive. I watched Angel up to sean three episode 6 when i was told I had to watch Buffy before i went any further. I didn't know how much I would like it. I thought it was just a girls show. I was wrong.

I'm with Saturn5, if only I could watch Buffy all over again without knowing what was about to happen! But then if that happened, I wouldn't remember the past 8 years of Buffy Fandom.
Kind of a catch 22, huh!

Becoming part1. The fights are getting better! The fights are getting better! Well done episode. The part were Xander reminds everyone about Jenny seems cold yet so true. Giles even seemed to be willing to forgive Angel and wanted to restore his sole. BUffy hates the person she loves most. Now that has got to tear at you. The vamp on fire in the class room was well done I thoght. Even though I know from Angel that what is coming is a fight Angel gets his soul back and everyone lives happily ever after it still has good tenshion. Kendra apears dead. Note sure if it's 100% or not. Part 2 here I come.
I am addicted so bad yet have not watched the end of season 2. Imagine what it will feel like by season 4.

Oooh, Becoming Part I is tied for my favorite episode ever on my list. It's one of the best episodes of the series, just telling you right now! The fights are getting a lot better, Angelus is getting a lot more evil and deviant, and the running scene at the end where the music slows down and Buffy runs while Whistler is giving the "Who You are" speech tops my list of favorite scenes. The quote that I have from that is my favorite quote ever!
"Bottom line is, even if you see 'em coming, You're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does.
The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are."
There's lot of other great things in this episode: Xander(although he was being an ass) bringing up the Jenny thing, finding the disk!!!!!, Kendra dying unfortunately, Dru killing her, and us seeing Willow's eagerness for one of the first times to do magic. The acting is great and the flashbacks are awesome, it first gives us an insight into Darla and Angel's relationship, so it's a good stepping-stone for someone who still needs to watch Angel and delve further into that dynamic relationship. Also, Buffy's clothing rocks in this episode, especially for S2!
I hope you really enjoy Becoming, Part II. It's just an amazing episode that has to be watched over and over again.
--It's so exciting to think about watching it all again without knowing what is going to happen later. Oh, I remember those days. *sigh*

I did greer. becoming part 2 was wow. Wow! Where do I start. IN highlander season 2 Duncan's wife dies. Whe never see her again until an angel brings her back for one episode in season 6. It was funny dramatic and action. I never thought any show would ever come close. I was wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What A great episode! One of the finest hour on tv or dvd! The cliche would have been right before Angel dies he gets his sould back. Instead Angel get;s it back and buffy takes the life of somthing with a soul and worse someone she loves. The fight scenes are top notch! Even the humor. Spike saying buffy plays the triangle lol. And the whole you hit with an axe once and even reinacts holding an ax. The scenne where spike was helping buffy and punches the vampire a few times in the face before buffy kills him was just aesome. If anyone ever sees a avatar the moving kind of spike doing this from the porch PLEASE let me know. I now have to wait for net flix to mail off season 3 disk 1. AUG!! Last time she held back on angel hoping for the spell. Xander did the smart thing and didn't tell her knowing she would hold back and get herself and other killed. Joice knows, she knows??!!!! How is this going to play out?! The sword scene was aweseome. Take evreything away what do you h ave left ME!!

I remember last year I was reading about season 3, and I was like "THERE'S AN EPISODE CALLED THE BEAUTY AND THE BEASTS?!? I'VE NEVER HEARD OF IT!". Turns out, I completely skipped it when I got my DVDs. It was like a whole new episode! haha.

I wish I could start from scratch too. A few months ago, I still hadn't watched most episodes of Angel, now I'm done watching the whole series. I have nothing left to watch that I haven't watched yet. I also want my memory wiped off Eternal Sunshine style.

It's an odd feeling, knowing that you've watched all of Buffy and Angel. It's like, What do I do with my life now? haha.
Now I just watch the episodes with the commentaries--makes some of the "ehh" episodes more bearable. I just watched The Initiative and Doug Petrie did the commentary--he was really informative and just a nice guy. I really enjoyed it.

>in addition to gangraping Buffy, You mean intending to, or at least the coach intending them to, right? That did not actually happen since she beat them right away. Yes but if it had been anyone but Buffy and even she might not have prevailed without Xander's help. So is it really responsible to let them go at the end?
